I have a contract with a company called PAY DAY FLOORING since 24/07/2023 for blinds and still to this date the job is still not complete I have recently told them that I will not be paying the remaining balance of £171.98 as I've waited going on seven months for a job to be completed with multiple bookings to come out but the fitters never turned up to do the job I also sent them a formal complaint via email outlining the contract and the date they said the job will be completed and due to the breakdown in the agreement I wish for the contract be terminated but i was told this was n ot possible as the blinds are a hire purchase item and non refundable

What do the T&Cs say?
I can't understand how blinds could be hire purchase. One doesn't hire blinds do they??I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. I think the idea is that they belong to the company until fully paid for, to make it easier to recover them.Realistically their only option to force the payment is small claims court, and if the OP has evidence that they are withholding payment until the job is complete it's unlikely the judge will side with the company without some kind of agreement to complete the work first. What do they still need to do?
