I reckon it is to make sure you are not just answering at random.  It's the same as the way they ask for your date of birth, and later for your age.

At the top right of the page of search results, it normally says (and has for several months) "Keep Search Awards Unlocked."

If you click on that, it goes to the page rbb-jhb posted.

If you click on "close" at the top of the page rbb-jhb posted, it takes you back to the original page.

It's been that way for several months.

If you complete one of the activities listed, you can get search wins for the next 60 days. There's been a counter on the top left of the search results page for several months.

If for example it says "Unlocked Awards Expire in 55 days", a little math tells you that 60-55=5, so it's 5 swag-days since you did one of the activities listed.

There seems to be another CB today (Monday 2 Dec 2024), "To Dad" for 2sb and it seems to come from doing the Daily Poll. If there are any details, they're on the US blog which we can't access

4SB Collector's Bill "To Brother" earned from search immediately after playing Daily Trivia app.  After the 2SB "To Dad", I guess these are going to build up with one every few days until nearly Christmas.

I wish they'd ask the crucial question at the beginning.

Like they'll ask a ton of demographic information first, then ask "have you got an electric car?" and screen you out when you say no. Why not ask if I have an electric car in the first place?!

Yes they also often ask for loads of personal information to start with.
