Oh yes, I overlooked the fact they didn't mention who it's an upgrade for!
Of course it also works out well for anyone who already does a lot of surveys at Swagbucks, but for me they've set the levels too high. If it only took one or two survey completes to unlock these better rewards then I'd probably go for it, but at those amounts I'm not interested.
If completing 10 surveys nets 50 SB from collector's bills, we could get more than that from the full set under the previous system. By my reckoning, now if we do 15 surveys we'd get slightly more, but would only get anything noticeably more from the collector's bills by completing 20 surveys to get the maximum. Add on the frustration of not even qualifying for most of their surveys and I'm definitely not going to bother.

Swagbucks sometimes pay less than 10% compared to going direct to some actual survey sites and in almost every case the hourly rate is appalling (That's without taking the number of screen outs, survey that fail to pay out, time spent taking screenshots in case of failures etc.)

I don't understand how the Collector's Bills are being issued this time around.  I've been getting them after completing surveys but today I didn't get one and only got 3 SBs through a search.  I only need one more to complete the set.

    From http://blog.uk.swagbucks.com/2024/11/get-ready-exciting-changes-are-coming-to-collectors-bills.html:

Here are the number of surveys that must be completed to earn each bill:

    Complete 3 Surveys = 5 SB
    Complete 5 Surveys = 10 SB
    Complete 7 Surveys = 15 SB
    Complete 10 Surveys = 20 SB
    Complete 15 Surveys = 30 SB
    Complete 20 Surveys = 50 SB

So this time around you don't win a CB on searches.  You will win the 50SB bill when you have completed 5 searches since winning the 30SB bill.  But future CB sets will require "playing Games, earning from Discover Offers, making Shop & Earn purchases, and submitting Magic Receipts".  I certainl.yh cannot imagine anybody submitting enough Magic Receipts to earn CBs at this rate!  But we'll see what happens.

Has anyone got a 3rd search win today (Monday 25/11/24)?
I got 2 fairly easily (3sb, 5sb), but I've searched > 100 times and no luck for the 3rd (and searching exactly the same way that normally gets me 3 search wins a day).
I know there's often an issue the day after collector bills (someone forgets to turn regular search back on), but as the just-ended collector bills had nothing to do with search, I don't see the connection this time

Thanks for this.  I've completed 9 surveys since I got the 30SB bill.  It doesn't look like they're going to give me the last one unless I'm doing something wrong.

  • purplevamp, I think the collector's bills were only with us for a week, so they ended at 8am UK time Monday 25/11/2024.

So when the CB section says "November 18 - November 25" they mean from 08:00 on 18 November up to 07:59 on 25th November?

Thanks justinjunk & General_Grant.  This would make sense.  I've never been any good at US times vs UK.

    General Grant: exactly.
Swagbucks is in California on the left coast of the US, and the collector's bills run from midnight to midnight Swagbucks time (that's PT or Pacific Time), which differs from UK time by 8 hours except when the clocks change when the difference is briefly 7 hours and the collector's bills run from 7am to 7am UK time, because the US springs forward earlier (3 weeks earlier in 2024) and falls back later (1 week in 2024) than the UK.
