Old DB Pension and Annual Allowance

Hi. I'm hoping someone is familiar with this topic and can help.

I am currently paying into a workplace pension (DC).

I have an old DB pension from an employer I left 15 years ago.

These are my only pensions.

The old DB pension is a very modest £1,500 per year based on the 1 April 23 statement (no lump sum) and rises in line with RPI each year. It was a 1/80th scheme, in case it's relevant.

My question is - do I need to include the old DB pension at all when calculating the Annual Allowance? If yes, can anyone provide a link to an example of how I do this.

Thanks so much for any info. Really appreciate it.

don't know the answer to your question really but I thought that the annual allowance was set to disappear.

Generally no you don't have to worry about AA for deferred DB pensions -

    Deferred members of DB schemes
For tax years 2011/12 onwards, there's no pension input amount for a deferred member of a DB scheme with preserved benefits provided they don't increase by more than CPI or, if greater, in line with the provisions of the scheme rules as at 14 October 2010.

    Annual allowance (abrdn.com)

Brie - The Lifetime Allowance (LTA) is being abolished not the Annual Allowance.

You're confusing it with the Lifetime Allowance - the annual allowance is still alive and well and with us...

OP - no, you don't need to take your old DB pension into account.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
