Apparently my husband saw in our local little Tesco that Christmas wrapping paper was reduced to only £0.15 a roll. He didn't get any though, I'll check when next in there and get a couple more if there are any left.3

@princesskitty29 & @Spendless vinted seems to be the place to be selling right now! I have had stuff sell since Christmas that has been on there for 12 months! I've sold 7 items since Christmas - including a Christmas jumper! Though I did order a recipe book with some of the balance. I don't know why there is a sudden rush - not complaining though!
I popped into Tesco Friday, sadly no wrapping paper in ours, we are in the market for some since we used up all the bits and bobs this time. Our go to used to be Paperchase in the Jan sales, so not sure where to look for it now really.
BUT they did have the tubes of mint areo bubbles, and I think the other was smarties reduced to 35p each. Date not as far as next Christmas but this summer so I got a few mint ones for eating / baking.
We were in B&M earlier today and they had some gorgeous big Christmassy mugs, woolly hats with gold Letters on they looked really nice! Perfect for a hot choc hamper type gift. £3.50 down to £2, if they come down further I might be tempted regardless of our mug ban >.< haha xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....3 -
Argos had wrapping paper, 3 rolls in a box with tags and string, I think it was 65p, some had a plain roll in so suitable for birthday wrap.5

Yesterday after dropping DD off at the station, I popped into the city centre and was looking round some of the reduced stock - mainly make up and perfume in the shops, a bit wistful that I can no longer buy much in advance at current reduced prices. The flip side of this is I have a much smaller list of people I buy for than I used to. Bit envious of the wrapping paper bargains you're all finding but I'm on a mission to use what I already have in first.
I did buy DD an overnight bag in TK Maxx in a brand she loves that I'm saving for her 21st. She doesn't have one which means she either borrows my favourite or throws everything into a carrier/tote and has it all spilling out! Neither is ideal. Whether it comes from us or someone else and they buy it from me, will decided nearer time when I get relatives asking me what they can get her.3 -
Nothing spent on presents this week except for myself! I’ve been having a mini crisis this week (one of many in the future I imagine) about getting older. It’s unusual for me as I’m always grateful that I get older and I know it’s a privilege, it doesn’t usually bother me but I had a bit of a moment about not being young and carefree in my twenties anymore! It sounds so silly writing it out but the feeling is real when you get it. Anyway I think a lot of it is just losing myself a bit after having children which I know is normal, so I treated myself to a few bits and bobs in the sales as my wardrobe and make up are seriously lacking! I also cancelled my gym membership as I have lost my mojo for it and signed up to Davina’s fitness platform ‘Own Your Goals’ as it’s half price at £49.99 for the whole year. I’ve started the 8 week beginners programme as I haven’t been able to exercise properly for a few months as I was having physio on my knee and foot. Hopefully a few little tweaks will perk me up and I just need to remember to not always put myself last!
I’m hoping to get myself into gear this week and get on with making some Christmas bunting to give as presents this year. I really have to start it this month as I said I was going to do it all year last year then ran out of time! If I could just get it made then I can tuck it away in the presents box.
Kdalwayskint well done on the weight loss, slow and steady is definitely the way to go. I hope your cat is all recovered from it’s tooth extraction.

I haven't spent anything on presents this week too, and I've just ordered myself a stash of books to keep me going through these dreary days/weeks. I rarely spend on myself but have made it a "resolution" this year to start to do so a lot more often. Tbh, with my book order, I did add a couple of packs of curling ribbon to the basket - not a great deal towards Christmas, but at least it's something ;-)2

Last year I set myself the challenge of having a 'Christmassy' day on the 25th of each month, just to check in with Christmas plans and anything I might be able to do earlier to help me be a bit more organised, I failed last year but i'm going to try again this year. On Thursday (25th Jan) I got out my Christmas material and cut out some bunting triangles and ironed them ready to sew. There are a few people i'd like to give it to as gifts and i'm determined to have it ready this year. I know I could do this any time but i'm always aware of other things i've got to do and it goes to the wayside as I always think i've got ages to do it, at least if I set myself a day a month I might actually get it done!
We seem to be a house of illness at the moment, my eldest started coughing on Monday evening and literally hasn't stopped since! It came on really suddenly with no other symptoms and it is almost continuous. I took him to the doctor yesterday and they checked him over, it is either a viral cough or we might have to check for asthma if it doesn't stop as my husband and youngest has it. It's horrible to hear him coughing constantly and he's awake for hours with it in the evening before he drops off. He can't really go to school like this but he can't keep having time off either! My youngest has started coughing too, although it's not as bad and I wonder if that's because he's already on a preventative inhaler. He also has a sore bum and has an antibiotic cream for that. The dog decided to join in this morning and has a dodgy tummy! Thank goodness we have a quiet weekend this weekend! Fingers crossed everyone starts improving.
SkyeD books are a wonderful thing to treat yourself too and much needed at the moment! The curling ribbon may not seem like much but you'll appreciate it when the time comes, all the little things add up.

Hello can I join please. I lurk often but really enjoy reading and getting ideas and promise to get better at posting. I like making things and learning new things. Going to try micro crochet soon.2

princesskitty - My daughter has also had a horrible cough for weeks. It started just before she came home in mid Dec and only started clearing up (not totally gone) a week ago. Hers was caused by reflux. It's taken a 2nd lot of medication plus her discovering what her 'triggers' are to combat it. I totally understand how you feel. Hearing DD cough throughout the night I thought we wouldn't be able to go out for Christmas dinner. We did but it attracted negative attention from people sitting nearby. DD had 6 weeks Christmas hols, not the experience she thought she would have during her time off but I was also glad she wasn't back in class and having to manage lessons.
Auti - Welcome.
I'm glad there's not much left of January!
