This week has flown by kinda felt like a headless chicken at times as it’s been non stop but it’s all coming together and I think for the first time in years I’ve actually finished the wrapping with time to spare as its already done whereas I'm usually still wrapping at bedtime.Had a lovely turkey carvery Sunday and got cakes to go as they are huge - picked up a choc eclair which is bigger than my forearm so Sharing that for dessert later.
had the grandkids today which was chaotic but they had a great time and loved their presents which is what it’s all about - I don’t think I I’ll ever tire of the pure joy & excitement they express over simplest things - dgd2 was like omg its a chocolate puppy then gave him a name
Hope everyone’s Christmas goes as well as possible with lots of love & laughter and great memories made
I’m off to bake cookies with taz before we settle down watching Xmas movies so I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hope everyone had a wonderful time. I received some beautiful gifts from husband and family.
Dinner was exactly at the level I wished it to be, additional items to make it special but not so OTT that things got forgotten. Daughter and husband both said their turkey went cold quickly on their plates, though the rest were ok, so that is something we'll have to overcome next year.
We managed to fit in seeing everyone, visiting FIL in his care home in the morning and my parents and Nan in the afternoon and friends calling for drinks in the evening.
The present obsessed dog cried at the room where all the presents were from 5.30am Christmas morning! When we visited FIL we moved all the then opened gifts out of his reach. When we returned we realised what we'd forgotten to do, move the bag of opened wrapping paper, it was now strewn all over the living room floor! Next we discovered the box of mini bonios put in his stocking had been spilt over the conservatory and hed eaten the lot, which meant the roast dinner which is his favourite he didnt want until hours later!
The infinity pillow didnt turn up or rather it supposedly did, a card was put through our door at 12.20 on Dec 24th saying they'd attempted delivery but no one was in, only they were, both husband and daughter. The dog who Ive witnessed being able to tell the postie is here from the bottom of the garden and can race the whole length of the garden and house to get to the front door (we have a letter guard on the door for this reason) didnt even bark, so did they knock at all, or just quietly post the card and slip away. I was pretty upset as this was DHs main item as I couldn't get the long sleeved t shirts in his size. Id been at work when it all happened. I ended up in Argos/Sainsbobs at 2.45 Xmas eve buying a kitchen knife set DH had suggested hed like, some guiness that came with a bobble hat and some tumber glasses for his fav flavoured rum that I was able to build into a hamper that daughter said I could have instead of her using it for her brother.
Today the infinity pillow is meant to be re delivered and Im not prepared to stray from the front door until it does.

Happy Twixmas all and I hope you had good times with your families and friends.Ours was good-ish. Bit of a mess up with new home oven saw the turkey put on defrost for 1.5 hours instead of fan (the symbols are
very similar!) so we ate later than planned. Before you ask…I was sober all of CE and CD until about 7pm as had to pick up and drop off my Mum! Eating later meant DS1 and DIL left straight after the main course as had plans to go to her Mums in the afternoon. All presents were well-received and all clothing correctly sized apart from a heated gilet for DH from DD which is a bit snug despite being a large. Told him he’s at his biggest given we have been scoffing treats all week so hopefully it’ll be better in a few weeks’ time!We had a quiet day yesterday and didn’t even get dressed! Today we’ve been to the SM for fruit and milk plus ingredients for lasagna. We are hosting ILs on Sunday so will get it made tomorrow to be able to rest it before cooking. A few Christmas bits left in the SM so got some pigs in blankets and a rolled pork joint which we have frozen for a roast later into January.I haven’t even looked at the sales but did order some skincare with cash gifted from my dad. We are going to cut down the gift list in 2025 and only buy for special birthdays and little ones. This was mooted by DH earlier in December with SIL so she’s up for it too.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings7 -

I got some half price wrapping paper at WHS this morning when I went with DD who wanted to look for clothes. I don't need any more clothes right now so I went off to buy milk and fresh fruit, and we met up at the car, where we had a cuppa from the flask I took with us! I'm doing this a lot more these days...

Me, DD and DH went sales shopping Boxing Day. I picked up some half price toiletries for next year for the menfolk and bought myself some skincare and perfume with Christmas money I'd received.
The infinity pillow turned up on Friday. I had booked the day off as AL and was determined I wasnt going too far from the front door till postie had been. I tidied up our hallway waiting, finding a key ring we'd once had my (late) nan's spare door key on had me sobbing and at that point of course there was a knock on the door! Fortunately the dog had heard this tine, charged to the door barking and gave me enough time to compose myself and shout i was just moving dog into another room. It was the pillow arriving. Gave it to DH straight away, saw no point in wrapping it. He really likes it.
Today Im working but my Nan went into hospital yesterday morning, that followed a fall on Sunday afternoon. Details not known yet, but am mindful shes 99. I'll go to work but then await a call from my parents once the Drs have done their rounds and its clearer whats happening.6 -
