mandco good to know, thanks!
Tesco currently have Terry's chocolate oranges on offer for 95p, I know they have gone down to 75p in previous years but not sure if that will be the case this year. I popped to my local retail park this morning and picked up some matching Grinch pyjamas for the boys Christmas Eve box, i'm getting matching for as long as I can get away with it!3 -
Thanks for the heads up on the terrys choc oranges
can’t remember where I saw them but somewhere had Terry choc orange hot chocolate bombs
The turkey joints are ideal for what we need as it supplements our main roast meat but with the cost of living still ongoing it’s a good option for struggling families who would like to have a more traditional Xmas dinner but don’t have the budget for fresh/larger turkey.
Wearing hooded blankets/oodies is about the closet my lot get to matching pjs now - ds refuses to wear anything he deems remotely Xmassy typical teen though he does like nightmare before Xmas

Hi all,
Thanks for the heads up re: chocolate oranges and the turkey joints. I'm getting a bit anxious that I haven't yet started an ambient food box for Christmas treats (the Cadbury bags have been consumed.....)
Got DD some Vans at the weekend for her birthday next week. Her current ones are 4 years old and she also has some Airforce(?) Nike's both of which are trashed but she doesn't seem to think she needs new?? Anyway, I managed to get a discount by signing up (and promptly unsubscribing) to the Vans membership which bought the shoes down from £100 to £70. The blue light discount was only offering me £10 off.
Decided against tickets for the serial killer expo for her birthday gift, but I might attend with her as just an outing. Most of her friends are still away at uni and she's single atm, so her social life is somewhat limited
DIL will get money towards the chest of drawers she wants. We couldn't stretch to the £169 total cost but expect her Dad will send her some cash too as he lives abroad, so hopefully she can order them soon.
Next birthday is niece on 10 October who will be 20 and will get cash. That's the last birthday gift of the year, then it’s full on Christmas prep (plus the house move of course…!)@Crazycatlady2 so very sorry to hear of your FIL’s passing.
@Abbafan1972 – enjoy your trip to Benidorm! Ooh I wonder if you’ll find any present ideas there?

I haven't been on here for a while, but I've been following the thread with crimbo excitement
B&M have Terry choc orange bombs - I went in this morning for a few bits to go into some chocolate hampers that I'm putting together for family members.2 -

Hiya, posting from the hotel pool in sunny Texas.
The 10hr flight was bearable compared to the 2hrs it took from plane landing to getting out causes by the airport only having one chute/carousel for hold luggage and only 1 staff member checking international passengers through security!! Already planning strategies around this for when we return in Spring! Adding insult to injury the taxi driver then dropped us off at the wrong hotel. We only knew when we went to check in by this time the driver had gone. A bellboy accompanied us and our luggage on a rack to the correct hotel a few blocks away.
Just made it in time to join the others eating out and wow.
US food portions are big, Texas ones are mega!
Only seen local shops so far, but hopeful that Walmart/Target etc will have some Christmas stock in.

A few Christmas food bits bought and now stored away, all chocolates and sweets bought. I’m trying to pick up food bits with each food shop. But it’s hard to get some bits like onion chutney as my shops just have empty shelves. Must be a problem or something but will keep checking. I picked up some white chocolate covered Oreo’s for my brother in Tesco on offer at £1.25 and some mini Christmas puddings. I picked up a couple of boxes of white chocolate fingers in Sainsbury’s as they are on offer 90p a box.No more gifts bought but am writing gift ideas in a little notebook when a family member drops hints.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £482

Well after letting you all know about the chocolate oranges being on offer I missed out! I didn’t get one on Friday as I was in a hurry and just saw the board outside, then DH and I went to Tesco on Saturday and they were there but DH was feeling really unwell so we grabbed what we needed and left. Then I went to add one to my order yesterday and they’d gone back to full price!
Hopefully they’ll reduce them again before Christmas. I did get two tubs of Heroes for £3.95 for Christmas and Halloween, I know they sometimes go on offer two for £7 but I just decided to go for it and stash them away.
I picked up two tubes of red and green Smarties for the boys’ stockings at the weekend as well as a fidget slug for DS2’s stocking for £1.
Thanks all for the heads up about the chocolate orange hot chocolate bombs, I wanted something to go with a mug I’ve got for my friend and that might be it!
Coxy I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but smile when you said the Cadbury bags have been consumed!
There’s always offers on food in the lead up to Christmas so I’m sure you will have plenty of time when the move is out of the way. There is a serial killer expo??! I had no idea there was such a thing.
Nice to hear from you Skye!
Spendless not the start you want to a holiday but I hope you have a great time now! Good luck with the Christmas shopping.
