How to add my Wife to our mortgage

We moved house  couple of years ago and the new mortgage was set up in my name only. I would like to include my Wife on the mortgage but am unsure how or if it is possible without mortgaging,

You'll need to speak to your lender about a transfer of equity. You will need a solicitor to handle the legal transfer of the property ownership and SDLT may apply subject to the numbers involved.

Many would leave it to the expiry of current product and roll up the TOE into a remortgage.

    Confused.

If you have a mortgage you can talk to the bank about adding her, might need a solicitor and might include stamp duty to be paid but am not sure.

But you say you want her on the mortgage but don't know how that could be done without a mortgage which implies that you have paid it all off and own the home outright.  So you want her to have her name on the deeds with you which just takes talking to a solicitor.

Is there a particular reason you want to do this - presumably the house would become hers if anything happened to you and should you go into care and need help to pay for that she could not be made homeless even if you own the house alone.

It reads to me as if OP meant remortgaging.
