Katiehound said:I remember some years ago my Dyson 1 needed attention and I asked the chap in the market hall what to do! Of course he said 'Bring it in'- then I explained that it was abroad at my holiday home. He very kindly explained what to do- it needed a new piece of flex but the screw driver needed a star shaped head.
Wonder if that is what you need?
Might be worth a look at espares website?
It is a star shaped tool but it has to have a hole in the middle of the star. Already had a star shape and various others but not the one with the hole.
Thanks Katie hound and Cherryfudge7 -

good afternoon chums wasn't feeling great this morning for some reason and definitely not at all hungry so abstained from eating much and waited until my tummy actually felt a bit empty Just had two slices of toast and a couple of boiled eggs and feel 100% better tonight. No specific reason just felt a bit bleugh. I've a feeling that the milk was a bit on the turn yesterday as its usually that which gives me a yukky feeling as I'm not a great lover of milk. But onwards and upwards and feeling brighter now

Minimised: Junk mail re-cycled and "proper" mail dealt with/filed.
Mend: I noticed a seam in one of the pillowcases I washed yesterday was coming apart so I've sewn it up before it gets any bigger. Not worth getting the sewing machine out for but sewed by hand with a double row of stitches.
Make Do: Today's tea is h/m fishcakes, peas and sweetcorn.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
Today I Minimised more bits from the freezer for lunch - small mini beef pasties (and I mean "mini") and 2 pieces of cheese & onion quiche. We also had the last of the mixed bean pasta I made the other day.
Mr Postie brought my yearly supply of French soaps this morning so that's Minimised some of my treats cash and I've recycled the box they came in..
Today's foodie Make Do is to use up some corned beef left in the fridge for what I call Savoury Pots. It's just some chopped onion lightly fried, fold in leftover diced cold potatoes, then fold in diced corned beef till it starts to shred. Turn into a microwavable dish, top with grated cheese and sliced tomatoes, then microwave for a few minutes. Serve with a green salad and crusty rolls for a tasty meal. The mix also makes a good filling for pasties or pies.
I've also made a batch of veg soup, 5/6 portions, after DS demolished the last of the tomato & red pepper soup that he said was delicious. He reckons he doesn't like peppers so I didn't enlighten him they were in the soup.
DS was definitely off it on Sunday feeling dizzy and being sick. Luckily the Community Cardiology nurse saw him on Monday for a check-up and she's taken him off one of his meds and changed another one to once a day instead of twice a day. He's fine now and it turns out his heart rate had gone from being way too fast to much too slow. A Minimise for him was getting an annual pre-paid prescription certificate; it cost £108 but will save him £351 over the year.
Pleased to hear you're feeling better now JackieO. Feeling bleugh isn't nice.Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
Make do - I took the last of the mashed potato from the freezer and had 2 scoops for dinner. There's a little left so I shall make something with it tomorrow.Mend - can't think of anything
Minimise - I am using 2" x 3.5" scraps of fabric to make a small quilt. It's looking surprisingly good considering it's just lots of blue/green/navy fabric that doesn't match.
I've also knitted a first size baby hat and cardigan in leftover white, green and blue wool. I've got a small amount of blue left that might be enough to knit bootees 🤞
I also minimised quite a bit of money to my friend's gardener who is going to do my garden at the weekend. I've already had the hedge replaced with a fence. And having the grass removed and replaced by a plant border, stone path and a raised shrubbery. I loved my garden but the upkeep was getting too much for me.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Make do: Shepherds pie for dinner tonight from the freezer with half a tin of baked beans. The other half will be on toast for lunch tomorrow.
Mend: a couple more knitted squares for the charity blanket
Minimise Some unneeded paperwork to be shredded as my stair lift is going to a new home next week 🤞

Make do: We're going to be away for a few days and the fridge had lots of things that wouldn't keep (and the freezer's full - again) and I fancied having something vegan to treat myself as you never know what you can get hold of when you're away... so I was pleased that I had the right things in stock to make a Weight Watchers' vegan Moroccan cottage pie which used up lots of mushrooms and other bits and pieces. So I was able to make do with what I had in and minimise (waste and fridge clutter) at the same time. I managed to get some of the leftovers into the freezer but some will have to stay in the fridge. I think it should be okay when we get home but I'll be careful.
I've also planted up some spring onions that were surplus to requirement the other week and have now grown roots in a jar of water, and the same for the remnants of a bunch of celery. I now have three celery plants grown from the ends of supermarket-bought celery. They root easily. One is a survival from last autumn and is a vigorous little thing with lots of thing stalks, just a miniature of the commercial ones really but it's fun to grow and means I don't have to buy a new lot every time I want to put a bit in a casserole.
Mend: my phone case had to be glued. I also discovered the eyelets on some trainers were getting rusty so I painted over them with nail varnish (dull gold as it happened to be available). I think it's an improvement.
Minimise: as above, and I threw out a nail varnish that wouldn't open.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thought you might like my minimise yesterday!
Decanted the bit in the bottom of the Disaronno- large chunky bottle- into a small glass bottle.
The funny bit: bottle still has the price in Deutsche marks- so pre Euros. (oh, only more than 20 years old & still delicious)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
