Council Tax Assessment

Hi All
I live in an apartment that in 2008 came on the market and sold for over £180,000, my current tax band is C (I've checked other apartments in the block and they too are C)
Since 2008 there's been a few issues. First of all if you get a survey done for the area, the ground under these apartments comes back with major concerns.
However, more importantly it was recently discovered that the apartments also have the wrong type of cladding and will have to be removed at some point.
Because of this you can now buy apartments in our block for around £115-120K, and some have sold at this price (land reg)
Should I look into applying for a reduction, or does none of the above matter as the apartment I live in has not been re-sold?
Thanks,
CityHall

Well they may take a view that it's too low and put it in a higher band along with all the others in the block, which would make the OP popular, so it's not the only option. May be unlikely, but is a possibility.
