Salaried to 50 hours..working 70+

Options
Hey everyone.

Hope you all had a good Christmas 😊.

I recently started for a new company about 4 months ago as a Site Manager, predominantly working within 60 miles of the office either north/south etc, so a decent bit of travel as this includes visiting multiple sites, client meetings etc.

On paper, me a long with the other managers should be working 6am-4pm, but this is usually anywhere between 5am-9pm,often 12-14 hours per day, being paid for 10.

We get paid overtime for weekends, but do not get paid travel or for hours over 10 worked through the week, Sadly the nature of the work often dictates longer hours/travel which takes you over the time.

Do we have any stand point on this? Our contracts opt us out of the working time regs, but they don't state anything regarding going over the 50 hours.

Thanks for any advice and all the best for the new year

Your contract may have initially opted you out of the working time directive. But there’s nothing to stop you opting back in again.

Unless the unpaid OT takes you below minimum wage you have nothing legal to back up your complaint.

Its complain to your boss that they're taking the mick and or find another job time
