TFL - Cheapest route options to new work location

My nearest tube stations are Turnpike Lane & Wood Green area (zone 3).
My nearest overgrounds are White Hart Lane and Northumberland Park (zone 3)
I've got a new job in Victoria (zone 1). I will need to use a mixture of bus and the underground (tube) I do not want to commit to an annual pass so a monthly travelcard would be the next best option. However, a monthly pass zones (1-3) is also very expensive with a cost of £184 a month. especially when I will only be using the bus/ tube 5 days a week. However, the cost of a daily commute totals close to a monthly travelcard so it makes sense to get a travelcard.
Another option I was thinking was purchasing a (1-2 zone monthly travelcard) £156.30, taking the bus to Manor House station (zone 2) and going to Victoria.
Any other options much appreciated.

I just tap everywhere and let the pay-as-you go daily and weekly caps take over, if they end up applying. They usually don't as I work from home more often than the office. The caps are described here: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/find-fares/tube-and-rail-fares/pay-as-you-go-caps
If you regularly hit these caps then a monthly travelcard would be the best approach.
Alternatively if you go the entire route by bus you might be capped by the hopper fares: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/find-fares/bus-and-tram-fares#on-this-page-0
I guess you could also take advantage of any public bike or scooter hire services1 -

It would help if you say where you are actually based rather than just the closet tube and overground stations but choosing the first station, and assuming cost is your priority, then you can get to Victoria with 2 buses, as the change in both directions could be done within the first hour it would be £1.75 each way.RKO1 said:

Thanks for this. Only issue is this will take under 2 hours each way lolDullGreyGuy said:

Best value is likely to be an *annual* zones 1-3 travelcard - you get 12 months for the price of 10.5 monthly travelcards. Some employers will offer an interest free loan to enable you to pay for an annual travelcard up front. Or potentially a zones 1-2 annual travelcard which you’d be able to use to get the bus to the edge of zone 2, but it depends how much you’d value having a shorter commute/extra flexibility. It’s worth trying out a few routes before settling on one, since in practice some will take longer than predicted.0

Here is an option which might be cheaper, although will take longer than a direct journey. The Zone 2 to Zone 1 transition is the most expensive part of any peak tube ticket or travelcard. I haven't run the numbers on the RKO1's specific journey, but I have seen something similar as popular in the past.
Travel Zone 3-2 (on a monthly ticket) on Tube/Overground to Finchley Road & Frognal or St. John's Wood.
Change to 113 bus (PAYG) at either location direct to Victoria.
Similar priced option would be train/tube to Hackney area, then 26 Bus from Hackney Wick to Victoria0 -
Thanks for this. These are the kind of options I was looking forMilesT6060842 said:Here is an option which might be cheaper, although will take longer than a direct journey. Also, Manor House is considered Zone 2 and 3. Will I be able to use a monthly travelcard with zone 1 and zone 2 from manor House?0 -
