I still query how much "space" (do I mean memory? do I mean battery application??) all these apps take up. It's all well and good these firms saying "just download our app", but don't you pretty soon get snowed under?
Anyhoo, I have done the shopping at MrL Bit of a problem occurred. I went through the till and the total came to more than I added up as I went around - by quite a margin. I paid (as I do sometimes make mistakes) and moved to the packing area, packed and left the store. Unusually for me, instead of checking my receipt in the car, I headed for home, unpacked the shopping and put it away and then sat down to check my receipt. I could then see immediately what had happened. The till/scanner had picked up a product twice - even though I had bought only one. And of course, it was actually the most expensive item I had bought today 🙄I decided to head back to the store. Luckily, the till operative was still serving, so I went to their till and waited in the queue. When it was my turn, I explained what had happened. I don't know if they remembered me, but they said, 'oh it happens' and refunded the amount overcharged. No issue, no having to get the manager to sanction, just a simple refund. I was so relieved, as it was an amount I couldn't really afford to lose, and although I know I'm trustworthy, I had left the store, come home, unpacked my shopping and then spotted the discrepancy.
So, I spent £37.07 in total today. That did include wine (I wasn't overcharged on that), but not alot else foodwise for around the £30 mark. I need to amend my siggie, and ponder how on earth to make the remaining £30-ish stretch to the end of the month 😬😁
If nothing else, I remain grateful today that a discrepancy was dealt with quickly and cheerfully and I got my money back.

GP - I often shop at the H&B near my office as they are en route to/from the train and tbh the prices for what I need to buy are comparable to the Big River. Their wi-fi and mobile signal reception is terrible that my app never works, but they happily pull up my loyalty number with just a postcode and street number so I never have to miss out on points! I'm wondering if some of the other stores do something similar? At our local MrS, you can go back after the fact with till receipt and card and they will credit your account with the missed points (thought that doesn't help if you are trying to get nectar prices).4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good Evening MFW'rs
Tea turned out to be quite good. I made up a stew, using the last 2 sweet potatoes, a couple of carrots, some onion, celery and garlic, along with some HM tommie sauce and a tin of black beans. Seasoning was paprika, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, parsley and coriander. I was going to do dumplings to go with, but had seen mention of, and a picture of, sweetcorn fritters on a blog..... so I thought...... and then I watched a YT video where a very lovely lass was showing you how to make fritters just like momma made, and I liked her technique, but searched a bit more and came up with Easy Sweetcorn Fritters. I based mine on this recipe, but used two-thirds plain flour and one third cornmeal, and put some baking powder in mine. I also used spring onion in my batter, rather than a red onion. In the comments on the recipe, people do point out the red onion is too raw tasting.
I used a poaching ring to keep my fritters a bit more uniform in shape. Both DH and LG declared them delish and munched them up. I had a fritter left over so I have shoved that in the freezer to see how it stores/reheats as I think these would be a bit spiffing as a breakfast dish, served with scrambled eggs or something, but are a bit time-consuming to make (I only have a small pan), so a pre-made batch would help to make a really special brekkie. I kept the seasonings reasonably simple, because LG was going to be eating them, but they would really lend themselves to all sorts of flavourings.
Did anyone else hear that Martin (Lewis) was the correct answer in one of the quiz questions on the Drivetime show on R2 tonight? That lass sounded like she was ..... in the know 😉
Thanks for popping in - appreciated.

I did think of you when prepping the shopping list, Lidl have tinned peaches on BOGOF, I don't know but suspect that the app is needed. I suspect that you will find it useful but not brilliant because of the nature of the offers.

Well, yesterday's washing that didn't make it out onto the line, has gone out today. We've sun here at the mo and a gentle breeze.
I'm thinking pizza for tea - maybe a half garlic mushie, half black olive as I have mushrooms to use up.
Very quiet on the money front. The plumber hasn't got back to me - it "might" be that he hasn't received my text, as it was the same day I had discovered I had been de-phoned, and texts were an issue, but more likely that he doesn't need the work/is busy. So back to the drawing board of looking for someone. DH has been talking about working tomorrow. He had said he wouldn't, but then they are snowed under (lots of people off sick and annual leave all in one week) 🙄Makes planning for adventurising very difficult. Even though we have a gazinty-million things to do around the homestead.

GP - I thought of you this morning when the weather forecast indicated that it would be sunny all day once the fog had lifted!
Two very large loads were done, one before my WFH morning & one at lunch - both are now outside on the two airers and the remainder pegged on the whirligig - everything flapping merrily in the light breeze. The neighbours must think I'm running a launderette on the side, as it's been an age since any of our things have been outside to dry!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! RT - is this to be my legacy - inspiring the nation to publically peg out their smalls to waft in the breeze...... 😂
Tea is in a holding pattern as DH came home and then went off again to collect something off a chum that he needs to borrow. All very MSE and laudable, but plays havoc with the oven timings........ LG has 'gone for a ride in the car', so hopefully they will come home safely just now.
Went to the next door market town along today. Ended up being a bit disappointed. Nowt in the chazzers. I was too late for any £1.50 boxes in MrL anyway, but I did ask if they were still doing them, and the lass on the till confirmed that they did still do them (in that store), and had had some earlier in the week, but just not today. I did pick up a couple of reasonably priced, 'appropriate to the recipient' birthday cards and I did pick up a jar of gherkins for £1 in H3r0n foods. They were H31nz brand, but at that price, cheaper than HB and MrL, so I partook. Will amend siggie just now.
Pizza (the half and half that I had planned), and chips for tea. Banana cake already cooked - making use of the 2 slightly going spotty bananas off the side.

My DS loves banana loaf & I am sure somehow he makes the remaining bananas go "over". Then walks past me & says I think I see banana loaf in our future. I'm not sure what the difference is between loaf & bread but suspect their is more banana in loaf as I use 4.
