Ooh, I didn't realise there was a free NT pass on the go, thank you! Will investigate if there are any left.
Just wanted to say it's worth quibbling if you're convinced the shelf price was different to what you were charged. I did this in Mr L recently, with something I absolutely wouldn't have bought unless it was at the price offered. My spidey senses were tingling that day, because I'd spotted that an identical product was on the normal shelves (a later batch, perhaps?) so I'd taken a photograph of the offer shelf 😂 Dont know what possessed me, but it meant I got a refund very quickly without having to send anyone half a mile round the shop 😂
We also quibbled the price of avocados in Mr W 🙈😂 Turns out the same thing was on THREE different shelves at different prices there. They didn't learn though because exactly the same thing happened a few days later - the lady remembered us and we got the second ones for free 😬6 -
Had I been in MrS, or MrT I may have, but MrAl..... ugh. Sorry, I'd just rather not bother - the staff are just....... not very customer focused in our local branch. I won't get caught out again.
The NT pass is available digitally (until nabbed) or in the newspapers, until the 18th irrc

Urgh, I quite understand. Sometimes it's just not worth the bother for a few pence is it? Sorry you have a grouchy lot in your local branch!
Managed to nab a pass, thank you! I've had a few over the years and for me it works out as a nice excuse for a day out with a family member 😊 although last time I couldn't get anyone to go with me and ended up going on my own!
I see they've got some available through the octopod app for £8 too - still worth it, especially if you end up taking several people.7 -
Thanks for the heads up GP I just got a pass too, I might save it for my birthday in early March 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Thanks GP, I didn't realise that you could get the free NT pass online. Duly obtainedMortgage Free November 2018

Oh goodness, don't thank me - I just noticed the MSE article yesterday. I got one of the digital passes when they did the scheme last summer, and had a couple of the physical paper ones too. My worry with the digital one is always wifi access, but I'm sure more knowledgeable people than me know you just put it in a digi-wallet or something and it works anywhere, anytime. But I'm a luddite, so like paper back up - although tbf, I managed to use the digital ticket just fine 😊
Cold start with us. I was going to take a trip to the market town across the way, but it's been very icy overnight, and the pavements are slippy. Whilst I appreciate the main road - when I get to it - probably has been gritted, car parks are less likely to be done, so I'll give it a pass I think.
There is a bit of a breeze, but coupled with cold temperatures, nothing will dry spectacularly well outside today.
Did anyone notice the sunset last night? It was spectacular here (what we could see), the reddish/violet/magenta was just....... and the golds were reflecting on windows, making it look like all the houses had their upstairs lights on at the same time - very funny. Mother nature 👍
Nothing earth shatteringly MSE is coming to mind at the mo, so I'll shuffle orf and do summat constructive.

Good call on skipping the roads this morning GP. I went out bright and early to put the recycling and rubbish in the bins. Our stairs were slippy & the handrail had a thin layer of ice on it! I was thankful for boots with a good sole and gloves! I had to bring the rubbish bag back in, as the icy layer had also frozen shut the rubbish bin! At some point today, I need to get out to the storage cupboard in the summer house and fetch out the enviro-salt for the steps as I think winter has arrived in full force.
By the time I came in and warmed up, the grocery delivery had arrived, which meant far too long with the front door open letting the warm air out and the cold air in! It's taken almost an hour for the house to come back to temp and two cups of steaming coffee to take the chill out of me.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good Evening MFW'rs
Well, it's been a funny auld day, but productive too.
Try to bobble along, be truthful and do your best has helped LG at school again, and their teacher is being helpful in tackling an issue. Unfortunately they can only be helpful in working towards solutions in the school setting, but its support Fam Greying are grateful for.
I am grateful for the ideas and suggestions that arise from these threads. Dearest Blackcats mentioned using the SC to make teas - and I made spice trail beans and bulghar on Monday night, and decided to put the SC to use again today. It occurred to me - that there wasn't anything "obvious" to make for tea - by that I mean we've not got any tinned tomatoes and I hadn't got any ideas of what else to cook. But then I hit upon the idea of cooking up (in the SC), the 4 baking tatties that LG and I picked up from the food waste 'please take' table, on NYE. Now baked tatties aren't LG's fave, so I did have another option up my sleeve, but despite receiving a faint 'but I don't like baked potatoes mum.....', I soldiered on with baking them, whilst microwaving some mixed veg (with a handful of sweetcorn thrown in), heating up some baked beans and made omlettes for us all. LG had the smallest tattie (which was still fist sized), and when they actually started eating...... declared that they had changed their mind, and actually, they liked baked tatties very much......... 😉 So, baked tatties made in the SC, using tatties that were 'waste' and no cost. Win 😁
I haven't done anything else MSE. I had to do some 'life' admin today. It doesn't matter what it was, and it's not financial in nature. But i'm glad that I did it, and I shouldn't have to do it again, so that's a plus.
**Edit** - i forgot to add, I did spend money today - i scrabbled up some of the change that had been left on the side in the kitchen and "invested" it in a newspaper for an NT voucher. It'd be nice to have the option to take LG somewhere in HT, but also have an option to go somewhere as a fam. too, as we're no longer NT members.

I had to laugh when you said LG now likes baked potatoes. That is so what normally happens. It took my DS until his mid-teens to eat mushrooms but will never eat sprouts but neither do I as they taste of metal/iodine (weird).6

Great result with the baked spuds. I know it's not your thing but I made a Chinese inspired pork dish in the slow cooker which was very tasty and there's enough for another variation for dinner tomorrow. The house smelt very aromatic whilst it was cooking.3
