Just caught up on a full month of your diary GP. Really pleased to hear you have had your windows done . For some reason in my flat non of the radiators are under the windows . I have a room about the same size as LGs and the radiator size you mentioned was it 1000m is the size in my room and that seems to hold the heat .I am about to go into Mr S and for once the Nectar prices are actually things I use !I love your menu for Xmas week and would love to be invited over ! . Not really into Turkey and all the trimmings , it will be beef and a normal Sunday roast with Xmas pudding and homemade custard .As for less cash in Dec if anyone can make do with what you have it will be you GP .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.6

Sets a space for Sunshine_girl2 at the table....... 😁
Sometimes the 'personally chosen' things are useful and save us money, but I've noticed that increasingly it will be one, or maybe two things that I would buy any given week, given that you have the 'invasive' checks when you do a smarty shop too, it's increasingly not worth the hassle - I'll choose to go through the staffed tills.
Thanks for the radiator advice - does that room have any external walls?

I personally like the ability to scan everything as I go, on the phone. Generally far quicker than having to queue up at the checkout and then pack, which suits me well and I get that it's not for everyone. That said, I very rarely shop in S's anyway because it's nearly always so much more expensive than the alternative and I just don't have the time to go round multiple shops to cherry pick individual "best prices" - I can do that to an extent, but generally speaking, have to just look at the bigger picture for the shop as a whole. That is one thing I quite miss from the later parts of Covid to be honest - while I was still furloughed, having the time to really cherry pick what I bought from shop to shop to get the best of the pricing!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've taken to the zapping and packing as I go around the shop in MrS, alot more than i ever thought I would EH, but whereas the shopper is doing all the 'work', MrS aren't putting much in the way of incentives in my direction (ie 6/7/8 reduced prices out of 10 offered that I can use each week, rather than one or perhaps 2), and then to compound it, they (periodically) have the most grumpy staff picking and poking through your carefully packed bags to check you're not robbing them blind you've not missed something off your list 🙄
Our particular MrL has seen price rises (I'm sure MrL aren't alone in having to raise prices), and they are more often than not OOS of stuff. I finally managed to get some bread yeast today, as they had one box on the shelf - I've been looking for it for weeks. MrAl isn't much better (although i do have a set of products that I do buy - usually in bulk - from there), it's just the staff that are the issue there - although I tend to use the self-serve till, as a) I'm not buying much and b) it avoids the staff on the tills.

Thanks hun, I shall have another look at my n*ctar account. I know there was an email a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sure it was around the time we were on hols, so I didn't read it perhaps quite as closely as I might. I do know that it also contained the info about how you redeemed your n*ctar points and you now have to swipe your card, rather than the till assistant just taking them off against your receipt - and i had to do it like that last week when I wanted to use n*ctar points to pay for my shopping. I need to check back what - if anything - it said about 'Your n*ctar prices' for me as a card holder.
Thanks for the advice tmv and Sunshine_girl2 - it's appreciated!
