Right, so i didn't go into Greying Town, as DH was running errands and agreed to go to the hB across the way to get some foil. I did also add several other things to the list - one of which was hot chocolate. I normally buy hot chocolate from MrL, and I explained that hB was unlikely to have something similar, but could they look as they were there. Needless to say, LG talked DH into buying some over-priced kits that include marshmallows too 🫤 It's really hard to send other folk shopping when you're working to a budget and you know that you have to go to various shops to get what you need. DH didn't even realise that the tass1mo branded hot chocolate contained pods specifically for use in a machine - that we don't have 🙄 The only saving grace about the kits that DH bought are that whilst you could get a pot of hot choc powder for less, you couldn't get a mug of HC from a cafe for any less, so......
I popped the washing out. There wasn't really a good enough breeze, but the sun was nice on the washing. That has gone behind the houses now, so there won't be any point to it being out for much longer. But it's dried to a reasonable point, given the time outside it's had.
Lunch was soup. I went for Cinnamon, apple, turnip. We have had it before, although last time I had tastier apples to use. The soup was fine, but a nice tasting apple (slightly on the sharp side) really makes this soup. But it was good enough and LG declared it delish and cleared their bowl, plus a tiny splodge of seconds. I served it with a spoonful of greek yoghurt and a light dusting of cinnamon. It used up half of the mahoosive turnip I bought last week, and took very little time to make, as I did it in the PC.

ohh that soup looks lovely! Am saving that for when I find a cheap turnip.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

GP - I just realized that the HB you are referring to is not the HB I was thinking of! In our neck of the woods HB is Holl & Barr, an overpriced health food store! I went looking there for condensed soups at 79p a tin and was told they don't stock big brand soups of any type or price!
I pondered this for a while and realized that HB may be Hom Barg - a store with a blue and red logo, who's trucks we constantly see driving west on the A303, but there are none in my town! The closest one to us looks to be near Stonehenge in the Solstice retail park and the next closest in Salisbury! - both a bit too far to drive for 79p soup! - such a shame as OH refused home made soup today & wanted a tin - none in house, except tomato basil which he won't touch!
I'm truly amazed that your laundry dried out at all today! It's been drizzling here since mid-morning so I didn't bother to focus on the wash! I'm about to put a load in, but it will be relegated to the airer indoors with the dehumidifier running overnight!

Hey sweetie - soz for the confusion. I haven't shopped in Holl&Barr for along time. But shop in hB all the time - although they are starting to get expensive and stock alot more branded stuff...... I agree, going to Stonehenge just for soup - albeit condensed - is a bit of a trek. And all the congestion as folk gawp at the stones......
We were definitely lucky with the weather today. The sunshine was actually warm if you were stood directly in it. Cuffs and collars still dampish to the touch, but I didn't get the stuff pegged out as early as I should, plus it wasn't quite as breezy as forecast. Another day staying out of the launderette tho. I shall take that as a win.
I made Parsnip curry, dhal and rice for tea. The curry used up the YS'd parsnips I bought in M&$ yesterday and was THIS recipe. There is a large portion of curry and a portion of dhal leftover to freeze. I used the PC to make the curry, so it's been earning it's keep today.
DH was doing 'tinkering' jobs this afternoon, but at least it kept him and LG entertained - although I could have done with getting in the kitchen earlier. I have still to finish off gathering bits and bobs for us to have something to eat on our teeny-tiny holiday/overnight stop.
Today I am grateful that we've a little excursion to look forward to tomorrow. Even if I have still got a ton of things to do in prep yet 🙄
