Just a suggestion, as so many people have gained from reading and contributing to this thread.
why not start a 2025 thread with your vision as the first post and then you can come back to it in a years time - if you want to see what we have all been up to.
it would be your legacy to us ❤️ and allow your vision to carry on.OR
just take the 2024 out of the title if you can amend it.
thank you, and have a good year.6 -
@Sausageroll14 - I'm so sorry you've had such an unpleasant year, I hope that 2025 is full of joy and peace!
@Moorviews - your new year plans sound good 😁 making your wellbeing a priority should always be high on your list - you can't keep giving if there's nothing left...
@Debsnewbudget - I've taken the 2024 out of the title 😉 I will definitely be back in 2026 to catch up! 😁
So, the end of 2024 is almost upon us and for me it has been a mixed bag but a year of continual learning for me so I'm very happy with where I'm at. I feel that I have put in enough groundwork to be able to really build on my progress over the next 12 months.
As I leave the digital world (and to some extent the outside world!) to pursue a life lived predominantly in line with the eight limbs of yoga, I am filled with hope and a genuine belief that I can live a peaceful and mindful life - harmonious with the universe and my own being which nurtures and supports my mental and physical health.
I will miss you all from this thread - it has given me a sense of wellbeing and joy being part of this community and I'm looking forward to returning in a year to see how your journeys have been 😁
I hope your 2025 brings you peace, joy, love and light - tread gently on the earth and treat yourselves with the care and respect that you deserve ❤️

Coming out the shadows of delurking to say this thread has been inspirational and lovely to hear of everyone's slow living moments. A very useful reminder to slow down and enjoy the smaller moments. Today we walked to a local lake and park from the house. Was lovely walking home as dusk came and got our steps in and cleared our heads.
Wishing you all a peaceful and calm Happy New Year.4 -

@weenancyinAmerica I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time. I hope things start to brighten and if not, you find more of what helps make you feel happy. I can say, from experience, despite thinking I’m a happy person; actually feeling the feeling of being happy is very different. I think I’m slowly starting to notice it more though now.@leftatthetrafficlights your posts here will be missed but I will try and contribute as much as I canFollow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Happy new year everyone!I’d love to start this new year with some of the elements of a slow life that I’d like to cultivate - a walk, reading, journalling. The weather is rubbish but I think I will bundle up and get out to our local park myself even if I can’t persuade the kids to come out too.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Happy New Year everyone. I shall continue to post and keep this thread “warm” for @leftatthetrafficlights return in 2026. I don’t do yoga or anything like that, but believe in living a life to give as much pleasure to yourself and others and being mindful in that pursuit. I hope that others of a similar ilk will also post and we can support each other along the way. Bon chance leftie xx6

Yoga is beyond me as I can't bend or kneel and if I get down on the floor I'd need help to get up!! (I'm sure it would get easier if I tried....) That said I do try to notice what's joyful around me.
One of the delights of the day is doing the washing up after breakfast (yes I know....). I like to make sure the dishes are clean and then the kitchen is too (frankly I do a better job than the head chef in the household). But it's not just the niceness of things being clean. It's because while I'm washing up I can look out the kitchen window into the garden. I've had a big plant pot saucer on the lawn and keep if full of water which means it's normally full of birds - from blueTs and robins up to magpies - I've seen up to 10 at a time of the tiddlers. They'll have a drink and splash about and flit back up to safety if a bigger bird flies over (we get hawks and buzzards being close to farmland and woods). This morning there were no birds flitting likely due to the high winds so I'm thinking that must all be huddled in their little groups in the long rose trellis at the side of the garden. Once the wind dies down I'll check that if their water needs replenishing and rescue to chair that's blown off the back decking. We have some fat balls that will go out as well as the birds will no doubt be peckish if they've been kept "indoors" too long and haven't got out to their feeding grounds.
Would like to get a proper bird bath but need to be sure it's something that is frost proof as well as easy to move about and regularly rinse thoroughly to clean it a bit. And it can be somewhere not too close for lurking predators and close enough for me to have a good view of the birds' antics.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie that's a lovely image.
I love the wildlife in my garden. I am having to be realistic though. We rescued a number of kittens this year (unexpectedly). They needed homes and I'm a push over. 😂 So I am praying for the wildlife for the next few seasons. I'm doing what I can. Bell collars will be implemented.5 -
