Bit odd that Lincolnshire have chosen to announce this now as if it's new news - it's an England-wide scheme and the extension at £2 was announced by the prime minister at the same time as the HS2 changes at the Conservative Party Conference in September.

The apology needs to come from MSE_James because he either hasn't read your post properly or actually thinks an extension of 14-15 months for all-England was announced at that conference.

An extension of the £2 fare across England to the end of 2024 was announced back in October.

(No need to delete anything, @Katiehound - totally fair to share Lincolnshire's announcement here, and good to bring the wider scheme to more people's attention)

That's because bus companies have to sign up to the fares cap scheme a few months at a time, based on a funding formula devised by the Government.

The scheme as a whole is confirmed as running till at least December 2024, but bus companies are being careful only to advertise it as being available until the date that their existing deal with the Government expires, as they could in theory drop out if they didn't like the terms being offered for the second half of the year.
