in Cutting tax
If I go into higher rate tax by a small amount, say £200 in a year, am I right in thinking that if I tell HMRC about any charitable donations in the year and they exceed that £200 then any consequences of tripping HRT don't occur. For instance, I can still earn £1,000 from non ISA savings? If I had done the thing with a non earning partner's tax allowance I wouldn't lose it?
If I make the same donations via payroll giving is it exactly the same but the paperwork is easier as it is all done through PAYE or are there more or less benefits?
