Barclays Architecture Guarantee

My partner and I have recently been applying for a mortgage for a new build property with Barclays and everything has been go through okay until they realised that the house is guaranteed by an independent architect and not bubs. They also say it is an issue if the house is not limited to the one plot and covers the whole site.
The professional consultant certification is not limited to a single property. There are eight properties on this development.
Has anyone else had a similar problem and been able to get it sorted?
