Tax Relief after SIPP contributions

...but only if you made some personal contributions to your SIPP, and it isn't clear from your post that you did. Sounds as if they might all have been by salary sacrifice, in which case there is no tax relief to claim.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -

The majority of the contributions are indeed salary sacrifice but the rest is my employer's auto-enrolment portion which they re-direct into my SIPP.0 -
Sorry, but I would just like to ask for further clarification/confirmation. As my contributions are via salary sacrifice and redirected employers' contribution e.g. I have not made personal contributions to my SIPP, I can not claim 40% tax relief even though part of my remaining salary is taxed at 40%.

Correct, salary sacrifice means you aren't contributing, you are agreeing to a reduced salary in return for employer contributions and you don't get any pension tax relief on employer contributions.davethebb said:Sorry, but I would just like to ask for further clarification/confirmation. You have of course avoided paying tax and NI on the amount sacrificed.1
