Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, cold with frosty start again, but forecast for a drier day.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, chips and beans, not the best/healthiest but bits needed using up. No clue for tonight.
Just half day at work but then jobs to do.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Cold and a bit foggy this morning, will have to be careful going to work. Would go on the bus but I have jobs to do on the way home.
Have a great time Ruby - you'll be on your way now.
When do you leave Scarlet?
Your job sounds like it will be really interesting Coxy.
Pleased to hear your car passed it's MOT Nanny, hope Mr Fix It can sort the brakes.
Can I come on your walk WL?
Lots to do at work, we are a man down with one of the LAs going in for a knee replacement today so it's all hands on deck.
Stay warm and safe, take care. XX

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's not a bad morning, not freezing and not raining.
I've got a dental appointment for a routine check up at 9 am ( what a way to start the day) then I'm going into Durham, the buses are running again, and I need to go to a bank there. We used to have a branch here but it closed. I won't be long, need to get home again.
The spare bedroom has clothes draped everywhere, the packing is in full swing .I'm a follower of the hokey cokey method of packing - put something in, no, take it out, I won't wear it, though I might, put it back in. You get the idea. It'll take today and tomorrow I think before we're done.
We are leaving next Thursday 14th.
Coxy, your new job sounds so interesting.
Thanks for the Christmas carol Taff.
Thinking of any poorly/sad people.
Take care folks.

The painting goes on. Yesterday the front door needed some remedial work, not the painters fault, it's a very very old wooden door which hasn't been properly maintained but he wanted to try. It's looking much better now, won't ever be perfect, and will get a third coat today. Upstairs the woodwork will get some snagging and touching up, the walls are done. I hate the smell of fresh paint, it always gives my sinuses a problem. When the wall painter was doing the downstairs hall I got him to take down the very dusty paper lampshade, the plan was to clean it but I've binned it instead. It's been up there for 10 years and was pretty wasted so I've ordered a new one from A.I only lit the wood burner later in the afternoon to help dry the paint. I've even turned on the upstairs electric radiator to frost setting, that must be the first time ever. All the rubbish is now at the tip so today I can settle down whilst the chaps are here finishing off.Camelot - I hope that your day isn't too fraught.Scarlet - I know the feeling! Packing for Australia always got me into a dither until I decided to take only minimal stuff as I could buy things there. And most times I didn't wear somethings as I just wore and washed. Last year I only took a cabin sized bag, a bit extreme for most I know. Anyway, happy hokey-cokeying.6

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A cold and frosty start here, brr. But I suppose it's better than more snow.
A quick trip into town this morning for the batteries I need as some of the string lights are still redundant and waiting patiently for them. I'm sure I will think of other bits I need whilst down. And I won't need to go down with a bag over my head as yesterday the hairdresser did my hair just the length I like it! Not scissor happy this time.
The 2 DGDs have invited themselves for tea after school so I need to have a freezer dive next and see what we are having. As much as they would like Bol Bake every time they come I am determined it will be something different this time!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all. We had a surprise overnight frost; I thought I'd wake up to rain!
We seemed to spend most of yesterday cleaning the oven, although the morning was spent waiting for the gel stuff to do its work. I then had to scrub the shelves. It's much better than it was but a real incentive not to leave it so long next time.
For anyone interested, the walk I'm doing is the Legal one on the list from this site London for free - 12 Free self-guided walks in London If you click on the walk it has a map that comes up and tracks around the highlights. I've done a few of the others but, when the weather improves, would like to get back and finish the rest.
Popping up to the Larder as a customer in a while, so will see what I come back with. After that I need to do some proper food shopping, mainly for fresh stuff. Think we'll have cauliflower cheese and a jacket potato tonight.
Keep well everyone.7 -
Hi everyone and thanks for the start and @nmlc x and @RedRuby1231 – safe journey and have an amazing time away x
Damp and foggy here this morning. The bus ran fine but I think due to a combination of weather and a train strike, it was full up pretty quickly. Luckily I’m only 3 stops in from the starting point, so virtually guaranteed to get a seat.
Yes @snoozer the role is proving to be interesting here. I just need to find my feet. Ms Moanalot is back today so the quiet office is no longer!
DH, DD and I went to see Elf at the cinema last night and had the place to ourselves bar one other lady. Funny movie and we might see Love Actually later in the week, but Wonka opens on Friday which looks fab too – not enough evenings in the week!
Hope work isn’t too bad @camelot1001 x
LOL to the hokey cokey package @ScarletRibbons J
I hope you don’t end up with a revolt @TravellingAbuela due to lack of Bol Bake!
Thanks for the walk link @WickedLady4 – maybe once I’ve finished JoGLE I’ll do something closer to home!
Hope you manage to get all the jobs done today @-taff. Pace yourself and have lots of breaks for hot drinks to keep you going x
Prawn and chilli spaghetti for dinner tonight. Nice a quick and tasty too!
Have a good day all
Coxy x

Hello all, yesterday I saw the GP who said she wasn't overly concerned but has requested more tests to be on the safe side. Afterwards I went to town with Dad to keep him company while he did some shopping and we called in the chippy on the way home, he only wanted chips but then tucked into half my fish too !
This morning I have already been shopping to Morries for some party food for tomorrow, dropped off some biscuits, tea and coffee at the garage to say thanks for the lend of the ramp and fingers crossed Mr Fix It has fixed the sticky brakes. Lastly we went to the pharmacy with another script for me.
I have to sort out the shopping in a moment and I'm looking forward to a bacon roll for lunch then later we must sort out the decorations and put the boxes away, can't have my guests climbing over them tomorrow to get to the food.... unless I send in the DGC first of course, they'll soon shift things out of the way !!
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently5
