    I've done that many a time 
    that works unless it is a strict employer like the police, that needs full 10 yr history with exact start and end dates.including dates of unemployment 
    Any role with any element of regulation, and many without, would see that  as a serious breach of integrity and a  probity issues 
    Completely agree best to be upfront. There is no point in hiding things. 

    Just be honest, if you go for it as another post said, just explain that the second job was a better option.

    Also, I think it is a bit premature to think of what goes on your CV when you leave the job you have not left your current job for yet.
