Flexible retirement

If a person had two jobs both within the council (job 1 ). working 3 days a week 18hrs and (job 2) working 14 hrs over two days  aged 60 yrs old, could they ask for flexible retirement by giving up the 14 hrs ?

Are both of these jobs of a similar nature, and with the same employer?  If so, then it's worth asking.

If not, then very unlikely.

Yes same employer (council payroll ) she has been doing job 2 for over (30 yrs but was only working 5hrs for the first 15 yrs  ) and job 1 for 15 yrs .

She'll need to run it past her employer, as flexi retirement is subject to their approval.

Not something I've come across in the past, but guess that it will depend on how closely the two jobs are linked.

If the jobs are completely separate, can you not resign from job  2 without affecting the status of job1?

That could work, but OP would only be able to draw his pension benefits from job 2.  Flexi retirement means reducing your hours and taking ALL of your pension accrued to date.
