Council tax refund interest on over payment.

I recently received notification form the council that my property had been re-banded for an G to an F band. I was told i wold be repaid £4600 for the last 21 years. I looked back and found out that this is only the difference in the bands for 21 years.

Am i entitled to interest on the over payment?

No. There is no reference in CT legislation for payment of interest on a refund of overpayment. A council paying such interest would be criticised by its auditors
