Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, showers forecast for the day. Air feels a bit cooler.
Dinner last night was roast potatoes, sausages, yorkshires and gravy. I had just yorkshires, roasties, veg and gravy.
Busy day today and working tomorrow. Jobs to do tomorrow afternoon also.

Morning All
Cold and dry this morning, should be a sunny day according to the forecast. Yesterday went from being a mild and wet morning to a cold and sunny afternoon.
I've to collect the little one from nursery this afternoon and take her to work for a while - her Mummy and Daddy are having a little mini-moon weekend. I'll have her here until Sunday when she will go to her Granny's until they come home. I'm sure we will have risotto for dinner as that's her favourite here - reminds me of your girls and their bolognese bake TA!
We'll meet up with DS1 and the DGC for a while tomorrow mid-way for lunch then I think it will be swimming and an early night (fingers crossed!).
Happy last day of your current work Coxy.
I may be the only one completely oblivious to Dr Who!
Good luck with the Ofsted visit dp1. Fabulous that the little one could enjoy the party.
Bet you were glad to get home TA.
Hope the family are settled back in snoozer.
Hugs to anyone in need, have a happy Friday, take care. XX

Oblivious to Dr Who?? 😱
Yesterday the pool session was cancelled as one young boy from the special needs class wouldn't get out after his school session. We all waited for about 20 mins before the decision was made. I felt sorry for the staff from the school and the pool. I still had a lovely shower before going home. No shopping as I decided that I didn't really need anything. In the afternoon I received a lovely surprise parcel from my friends in the south of Germany. It was an assortment of German Christmas goodies, only a small box but it was stuffed full of my favourites most of which can't be found here. I was very touched. The local council has started to expand the current forest haul road into the new short bypass round the still mostly blocked one. With some luck and good'ish weather it may be another three weeks. No plans for today yet. It's cold and dark still. I just wait and see.10 -
Morning folks. It's cold and dry here too, with sun forecast for a few days. So an improvement on the wet and miserable days we have had and the gale force winds of yesterday have died down.
I'm up and at 'em early doors as I am tripping off to Planet Dance with DD and the girls (it's a teacher training day!) They have appointments booked for pointe shoe measuring and the nearest place that does it hereabouts is almost an hour's drive away (traffic permitting!) I have been invited along as they want me to get their main Xmas pressie there. I went once before with them and think I may need to stop on the way to rob a bank! The dancewear they are wanting is mostly Italian designer stuff - beautiful but costly!
I did a half hearted Friday Tidy yesterday and the washing has been festooning the upstairs. That should be dry enough to gather up before we go.
CAMELOT my famous Bol Bake is in print! When middle DGD was at junior school they were all asked to write a short essay on one of their childhood memories that will remain with them.. Hers was my Bol Bake, which she explained in glowing terms! The memories were then compiled into a printed book, I was beyond proud and still have the book in pride of place in my bookcase!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and poorly loved ones. Sympathy with the insomniacs, I am back with you with my brain working overtime at silly o'clock. Grr! Take care all and be safe xx

Morning allRe Dr Who, I can remember when it started in black and white. I remember a few years ago reading that you only had to hide up upstairs from the Daleks to keep safe as they couldn't climb stairs, made me chuckle. The Weeping Angels were the ones that creeped me out the most though!Just hung the washing on the airer upstairs and it looks a bit too blustery out there this morning to be able to keep it hanging on the line.Off food shopping in a mo and then back to make Gingerbread men for Christmas as they freeze well. Will then decorate them nearer the time. Love the fact that I found out a few years ago that if you turned them upside down you could turn them into Rudolph.Take care all x11

Hi everyone,
Life is getting back to normal, the children have coped pretty well with the jet-lag on the whole although Esther was having a party at midnight last night for an hour or so. The major downside of the trip is that Esben was bitten bu a cat on the last day, not badly and it has healed quickly - but Costa Rica has rabies and while the risk is minuscule Laura spoke to the Dr who rang the hospital for Tropical Disease who recommended he be vaccinated as a precaution so he has the first two of five this afternoon (the hospital are sending it to the surgery this morning), my poor little man. They no longer do it in the stomach which were supposedly quite brutal so I'm hoping it won't be too bad. You've got to love the NHS, when things like this happen they pull out all the stops.
We're having a family celebration for Esther's birthday (she was one on Monday) tomorrow so I'm thinking of making a cake of some description. Hopefully quite a simple one so I won't ask Esben for suggestions.
TA, the dance place sounds great, I'll keep my fingers crossed that they have a good Black Friday sale on for you.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning everyone - it's a bit cold here but the sun is shining. Thank you for starting us off nmlc.
I am off to a friend's for a coffee/chat this morning.
Hope you all have a great weekend. x9 -
Morning everyone bright dry and cold here I’m off to help out at the bread and butter thing soon it’s only an hour or so and I enjoy it get a bit chat and a cup of coffee . Snoozer poor little Esben I hope he’s alright with the injections. Gers what a shame about your pool session but the goodies sound nice . Not a lot else happening here last day of the week at work it has to be a cold but dry weekend. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all. Another dry day here so far.
Not a lot to report here but it might be the lull before the storm. DH now has to have a tooth removed under GA so that will be a random day at MK Hospital and a 7.30am start!
Am off to see about a couple of presents for DGS later this morning, as recommended by DD. Had forgotten it's Black Friday so fingers crossed the small retail park I'm visiting won't be horrendously busy.
This evening I'm playing for one of my Morris sides at the Rickmansworth Christmas Lights and I think the temperature is going to plummet so extra layers will be required. Maybe a festive hot chocolate will help as well.
Such a worry regarding Esben, Snoozer, but at least the NHS are doing as much as they can. And such a shame about your pool slot cancellation Gers; I hope it's not a regular occurrence.
Happy Friday everyone.10 -

Morning! Cold and dry, bit windy this morning, sky odens't look too promising for line drying so tumble it is. Hopefully a plumber will come today to see about installing some radiators, he might just leave and never come back when he sees how full the back bedroom is. I have some shopping to do later and need to drop off thank you's for cat sitting to the friend who did it, then the day is my oyster. I think a lot of crochet is in my future today, I'm really enjoying doing it this time, I might even keep it for me. The food went down well last night, at least I think it did, there's some risotto left over and a bit of pork chop, so the risotto will do for my dinner and I'll make some kind of stir fry thing with the pork. Ive got noodles, spring onions and sesame oil so some beansprouts and we're done. Easy supper. Our council have just inroduced food waste recycling, but so far, we haven't had any, between the compost and the foxes. When I found out foxes like sandwiches [ another friend feeds a family of them by her house with peanut butter sandwiches] I've been putting any fat left from cooking sausages etc on some bread and leaving it out for them. Which means the artery jar is now out of action [ basically a used coffee jar that gets any random fat poured in it - so called because it's not in your arteries any more]. One less thing cluttering the kitchen.Good luck dp1! Hope it all goes without too much hassle. camelot, is she a foodie already? Brilliant! Gers, shame about the lesson, great about the thought and the presents
TA, that's nice, and lovely that it's one of their memories to keep. Chris, that's a good tip! snoozer, yeah, cannot fault the NHS...[the politicians who have been trying to break it, another matter] Izzy, enjoy the weekend off! WL, you have such an interesting hobby or job....Rosy, happy cake making! Coxy, hope you can recenter at the weekend...Right, take care all, breakfast time for me, wrap up, it's a little nippy....
