Ceramic hob replacements?

Hi All, I moved house recently and inherited a 90cm Stoves cooker which has a cracked ceramic glass hob. I contacted the manufacturers about a replacement, and I was told they are having difficulties getting the glass and, if the problems get resolved, it could be April of next year, at the earliest, before I could get a replacement. No replacements are available on the internet, I've looked. This cooker and others with ceramic hobs are still being sold. Surely, if there are genuine difficulties sourcing the glass this applies to other manufacturers too? So, is a cooker with a ceramic glass hob a wise investment or should I avoid? Should I replace the cooker with dual fuel as a safer longer term option, even though I'll have to get a gas engineer to put in a gas point?

So is the top induction or other? Ceramic glass can be traditional electric, induction or even gas.
Not all manufacturers will use the same suppliers, even the same supplier it won't necessarily be the identical material. We've had ceramic glass hobs at range of price points and certainly they aren't all equal. Don't know the difference in the material but our current induction one looks brand new now 2 years on whereas a previous one with a traditional heating element the surface changed fairly quickly on the main hob ring we were using
I prefer separate oven and hobs than having a slot in cooker... would be happy it being all electric though as long as the hob is induction.0
