How Much Have You Saved with MOCs This Year?

Options
This year has been the first that I've kept a record for the whole year, and I am delighted to have saved £1,374 using coupons in Tesco. My total spend was £3,081 (before taking off the coupons), so I've saved almost 45%.

I haven't kept track exactly, but around 2,600...........
Some people create their own storms....then get upset when it rains!
  • I use £60 worth of MOC's every week so multiply that by 52 and my total annual saving is £3120. I save 50% every week. I feel like I am getting everything on buy one get one free! I absolutely love using MOC's and get on such a high when I find them!
  • I suggest we keep this quiet as it will go the same way as R+R

One suggestion for Cmathews is a coupon champions league (CCL)

The idea is for MSE's to email one person their total savings for the year and the person adds it to excel spread sheet to keep a up to date list and no amounts are revealed, so Mr Tesco can not find out.

It will look something like this

    3. Mr saver

    So what do we think?

We could do a monthly CCL for 2008, just needs an admin person!!!

Can someone confirm about tesco vouchers - will they take any voucher - even if you haven't bought the item. For example if I see a 50p off dog food would they take it if I was only buying eggs?!

Where should I be looking to find that many coupons? That's a fantastic amount.
  • Spent about £4,000 and shaved about 5% off with mocs.:D So clearly Mr T does well out of accepting a couple of mocs here and there to tempt me into his store and I suggest he keeps the policy going.

Yes but only if it's NOT a Tesco-specific voucher/coupon (and not specific to any other Supermaket either).

You need to collect non-specific manufacturers' coupons, have a look at the ones (low value) that are in Best magazine every week to get an idea of what you should be looking for. You need your coupons to be in date, no Supermarket specified and it needs a barcode starting with 99, which will almost always scan at any Supermarket (although it's only Tesco, Asda and Waitrose that will allow you to use them without buying the product/magazine stated).

HTH, Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

P.S. No idea how much I have saved this year but I never pay without a wedge of coupons in Tesco. I have even left my shopping on the conveyor on the odd occasion some numpty said no, as I know what I should be allowed to use and am not bothered at all about handing over a huuuuge pile!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
