Best doorbell camera that doesn't require a subscription?

Hi, I'm not sure why but since we've moved house delivery drivers from all different companies seem to just leave parcels by the front door without even knocking or ringing the doorbell... my wife always thought a video doorbell would be a waste of money, but in order to hopefully stop the soggy parcels we're hoping to pick up one on a Black Friday deal.

Requirements ideally would be:

- Motion detecting, so it'll alert us even if no one rings the doorbell
- No monthly or anual subscription if possible
- Ability to view old videos
- Has a camera facing downwards to see if there are any parcels

Appreciate it's probably quite a big ask to get all 4, but I'd really love to hear if anyone has any recommendations please. Thank you :)

I cannot advise as I do not have a video doorbell.
However, we have been considering the EUFY product
    https://uk.eufy.com/products/e8213381?ref=navimenu_2_3_5_copy&fliter_category=video-doorbell

I like the fact the bell push can be wired, dual camera and also the unit uses a storage module in the house rather than the cloud.

We had Eufy cameras and ended up ditching them for Ring. I know you don’t want a subscription so ring probably isn’t for you but I cannot fault our cameras, alarm and doorbell from them.

Thank you, mind if I ask what made you switch from Eufy? And I guess specifically why you’re happy to now pay a subscription

The picture quality wasn’t as good at the time and neither was motion alerts or setting the parameters of what you want to capture. ie pulling the zone away from the pavement so you don’t get an alert every time someone walks past. You don’t have to pay a subscription if you don’t want to record or review videos. Things have got better now so maybe Eufy have upped their game. You asked for a camera facing downwards to see a parcel but that isn’t needed as you will see the person walking towards your door with a parcel and leaving without one.

The subscription we pay yearly is predominantly because it gives us cellular alarm back up and 24/7 assisted monitoring

Person Alerts (a notification when a person has been spotted)

Rich Notifications (a photo preview of an alert without opening the Ring app)

Video history for up to 180 days 2

    Video saving and sharing
Bulk download up to 50 videos at once

    Snapshot Capture 3

    10% off selected products at Ring.com 4

24/7 Assisted Monitoring for Ring Alarm 5, 6

    Cellular Backup for Ring Alarm

Ahh, sorry to hear that - sounds like the Ring is a lot better and you get a lot for your money too. Hoping the Eufy is decent when it arrives, but if not it's nice to have another good option!
