Westcot 9 Years later?

My partner had an overdraft and money owed in credit card. Raised a payment plan and letters etc.. 9 years ago. He has been contacted by Westcot ( post ) today to say he owes 1.5K . There is literally nothing on any of his credit records - we have looked.
What to do ? Ps - I know it to be true - I have managed his finances.

Are you aware of the limitation act 1980?
Any simple contract debt not paid or acknowledged in writing for any period of 6 years will be statute barred under UK law.
