Generally best and quickest to save a link direct to the actual sites for daily entry etc rather than rely on entering via the forum every day
  • Oh no! 😟 It's truly disheartening to hear about the Quidco Black Friday Match 3 disappearing, especially when you're met with that frustrating "You don't have permission" message. The anticipation and excitement must have been through the roof, and now this unexpected roadblock.

Yes there was a duplicate post which I remember reporting and requesting a merge with the link above.

Posting is a privilege, not a right. This is a privately-owned site. Posting is a privilege, not a right. Any inappropriate posts or any issues that take up a disproportionate amount of resources or make it a worse place to be will be stopped at our discretion - with or without explanation. Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way.

..But nothing has been merged to that thread. So it must have been deleted.
@MSE_ForumTeam5  Why are MSE deleting threads when a merge is requested? This can lose useful information and "loses" any thanks (Comp-liments) made on the deleted post. These thanks can be useful for people to see if they have entered already.
When they do actually do a merge, they do sometimes merge the original thread to the duplicate. Why? Is this because the merge request is badly worded?  The original thread should remain as the thread starter and the duplicate added to it.

We would usually pick the older thread to use as the 'main' thread when doing a merge, but it can be a bit fiddly to get right.

Another thing that sometimes happens is that a merge is requested, but in the meantime the person who posted the dupe redacts their post with 'DUPE' all over it and there then doesn't seem much value in keeping it.

If the post has any Comp-liments or the entered skipped has been used then they are lost if the post is deleted

My understanding is that you would lose the entered/skipped on the duplicate anyway if the thread was merged.

Some people use the comp-liement to show they have entered, admittedly less since the original function of the button was lost (where all "thankers" could be accessed and not just the last few to use it)
