Bargains in convenience stores

Husband got an email telling him that new job is in a smaller town four miles away from original location, which means no 5 min walk to Waitrose at lunchtime. 😔 Apart from a Lidl, no supermarkets. Budgens, Nisa Extra, two Costcutters, two Sainsbury's Locals and three Co-ops though, all within five min drive. 

I have shopped at Budgens in Sussex, Nisa locally and at assorted Co-ops including an actual supermarket in Heathfield. Wondering if it's worth the effort to keep on top of offers e.g. £1 off Leerdammer and 2x Evian 1.5L for 2.50 at Budgens. 

Does anyone find good bargains ?

Saving on items that you would have bought anyway is always worth it in my opinion particularly if you can get long sell by dates. Still using Toilet rollls bought over six months ago in Premier convenience store.

A bargain is only a bargain if you need the item. Also if local shop bit pricier remember to add on cost of travel to other shops. Unless you go down the home delivery path but then you need to add on costs etc. If you have a Coop do get their membership & there can be good offers. On a bizarre bargain, in the middle of the summer last yr I found Xmas Crackers 50p a box in a Morrisons local! So you never know!
