Hello all,
I've been lurking on the MSE website for a while now, and the time has come to make my first post!!
As it stands my wife and I own our current property outright, and are therefore mortgage free. We are now looking to move, and the house has been valued around the £165k mark. The price range we're looking to move to is £245k. In simple terms this means getting a mortgage for £80k.
My question is (and it's no doubt a daft one, but may as well show myself up in my first post), due to us having no debt to clear on the old house, are there any deals out there that anyone is aware of that would benefit us due to us putting down such a large deposit in relation to the actual house price. I'm guessing it's just a case of the mortgage lenders just treating you as they would anyone else, but I thought I'd ask the question anyway in case we're missing out on something.
I'm 33 and my wife is 30 if that is likely to make any difference.
Thanks

You should have the pick of mortgages out there provided your income will support the loan you are looking for.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
