TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Magic Radio / Costa / ON AIR COMP” (the “Competition”).

 

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside  our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail.

 

1.ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS	Entries are restricted to one entry per person Entry to the Competition is available via the following routes:  Magic Radio - On air: pre-reg online at Latest Competitions News | Competitions Articles - Magic Radio (planetradio.co.uk) Online entry is free of charge.
2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN	On-air: There will be 5 x (“winners”) of the on-air competition in total. 1 x winner will be revealed on-air, every Thursday in the Breakfast Show on Magic Radio between 6 am and 10 am on the following Thursdays: Thursday 23rd November, Thursday 30th November, Thursday 7th December, Thursday 14th December and Thursday 21st December.   In order to be eligible to (“win”), entrants must complete the following details on the website:    1)     Provide Full Name and Mobile Phone Number  2)     Write a paragraph, explaining who deserves to have their Christmas made a little better and why 3)     Agree to being available and coming on-air to tell their story of their nominee for a chance to win the prize between the dates of the competition set out above or to have your story read out on air 4)     Agree to make their nominee available to also come on air to speak with Ronan and Harriet and receive their prize Contestants will need to pre-register with their story between 17th November 2023 and 20th December 2023.   Entries will be judged by the most thoughtful and entertaining story.  All valid entries will be pooled together, then judged by the Magic Radio production team, the production manager and an independent judge.     We will be shortlisting entries during the competition period from the open of the competition on the 17/11/2023 at 00.01 until the close of the competition online entry period on 20/11/2023 at 09:30 am.   A short list of 4 x stories a day will be given to a member of the Magic Radio production team who will attempt to make contact via telephone. If however, the person being called does not answer on first attempt, they will move down the list and contact another person.   When contact is made, we will require the entrant to coherently explain their entry. The entry must match the entry that was entered online.   Being shortlisted and contacted does not mean the shortlisted entrant is a winner, they will only be deemed a winner by the Magic Radio production team during the on-air competition round.    Magic Radio has the right to pre-record any competition rounds and play them ‘as live’ during the Magic Radio show.    The competition will air during the Magic Radio breakfast show each Thursday between 23rd November and 22nd December which takes place between 6am and 10am. Exact timings of the competition within this broader timeframe will be given on air by the presenter.   By pre-registering for the on-air competition, you agree that your story and nomination can be read out on air. If your story is read out on air it does not mean that you are a winner.  Only upon being on air and being told that they are the winner or winning name announced by the presenter, will an entrant become a winner.   All final decisions will rest with the Magic Radio Production team.    If the contestant wins a prize and it is subsequently discovered that they do not fulfil these specific terms and conditions, nor the general competitions terms and condition, they will be disqualified. 3. ENTRY PERIOD	Entries must be submitted during the following entry period:  On air: Pre-register online from 27th November start time 00:01 to 20th December at 09:30 am 2023.
4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS	Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry. Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms.

• Entries which do not comply with these Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Terms.
• Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.
• You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route.
