Good morning, dark and quiet outside, no rain! and not windy. It doesn't seem as cold as yesterday.
We go to Australia in a few weeks, mid December, and we're now starting to prepare as much as we can. I'm only buying Christmas presents for the two youngest grandchildren, the rest of the family can have money. That's all in hand. In a way it's an easy Christmas.
I want to go through our bookings today, and look at the travel insurance again, just to make sure everything is ok.
Apart from that there's not much happening.
Hope everyone is all right and has a good day today, thinking of our poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Exciting days ahead, not long now! After 2 sunny, but cold, days we are back to gloominess today. But at least it's not raining - yet!
I got my act together yesterday and made my trip to Harrogate as planned.. Still the long way round, thanks to the diversion, but I heard rumours on the bus that normal service may resume next week as the Blubberhouses is opening again. It was a lovely ride there with blue sky and sun all the way but I had forgotten it would be dark early for the ride back. I came home laden with my trolly full and 2 carrier bags as well. I didn't have a spare hand for my stick so that had to be folded up and rammed in one of the bags. I didn't get any of the main presents but I did get lots of stocking fillers for everybody, plus the gifts for all the Gt Nieces and nephews I still buy for. I may resort to internet shopping for the main stuff, I'm not sure I can face another trip. I fell through the door at 5.50 just in time to throw my jim jams and d gown on and get comfy for Strictly. The bags etc are still where I dumped them and yet to unpack! I'll do that after the early morning chores and get everything in my stash boxes upstairs.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning allGlad you had a good shopping trip @TravellingAbuela I've got a couple of days off at the end of the month so hope to get some inspiration for presents before then and can do a shopping trip to get most of them. I got a delivery of one present for DH yesterday so that's at least one ticked off!How exciting @ScarletRibbons travelling to the other side of the world! We are going to the Caribbean for the first time next February to belatedly celebrate our big anniversary and birthdays. I've a counter on my phone and once it counts down to under 3 figures I'll start getting excitedT**co shop should arrive in an hour or so with no subs. Weather forecast looks like my towel wash will have to go in the tumble dryer. Shepherds pie for dinner.Have a good day everyone x10

It's another bitterly cold though beautiful morning here. The sky is blue and the ground is white with frost. The painter didn't turn up yesterday but he texted me and is coming this morning instead. I'll light the woodburner so he'll be comfortable. I'm out this afternoon so won't need it.My wall clock arrived back yesterday. It had stopped working on Monday. On Tuesday I sent it back to the company, there it had a new movement put in and now it's on my wall. The service was fast, they even returned it with the same box and packaging I'd sent it in which was already used. I'm so pleased that it's back, I kept looking for the time and then got disappointed each time. 😀10

Morning All
Another one with a white frost here, clear skies and looks beautiful. Washing almost dried outside yesterday as it was so sunny, not enough to do today.
Good service for your clock Gers, hope the painter arrives today.
Sounds like you got a good haul TA.
Not long now Scarlet, checking all the details always makes me excited for a trip.
I spent the day on the sofa yesterday with a box of tissues, it's certainly a snotty cold! I need to get myself organised for a trip to Glasgow with DD, the little one is staying home with her Daddy. We'll have lunch out and a good wander around the shops although I got a few stocking fillers for the littlies yesterday when I was out.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Morning all. No rain again today!
Mince pies were made yesterday and I've just eaten one after my breakfast - oops!
So far today I've managed to cram everything into the kitchen freezer so have pulled the plug on the one in the garage, ready to start defrosting. I've also made a shopping list for a few bits of food and will go out later for those.
I ordered one Christmas present yesterday for my family Secret Santa but the link kept on going back to Amazon so I've ordered it on DH's account and asked him to forward me the email without peeking! Luckily it's not for him but he would guess who I'm buying for if he read it as it's very specific.
TA; well done on breaking the back of your Christmas shopping. I have been to Harrogate but only remember Betty's : I expect I'll be back there in April as its a good place to break my journey up to Hawes.
Scarlet Ribbons: I'd be looking forward to Christmas in Australia, especially as we have family out there. Wouldn't like the extreme heat at that time of year though.
Happy Sunday everyone.10 -

Morning all
Cold and damp here but not actually raining atm but more due later.
DD and I had such a lovely night away we got to Brighton and managed to park the car quite near the town centre, we did a bit of shopping and then stopped for lunch and a wine 😃 did a bit more shopping and several more wines then made our way to the hotel we got to our room and it was absolutely freezing 🥶 I think the air con was on so we phoned reception and they advised us to turn the thermostat up, which would have been fine but there was no thermostat! They then bought us a small heater which did nothing by the time we went out for dinner we were shivering so I stopped at reception and asked them to get us another room ready, by the time we got back they gave us another key and said they had turned the heating right up for us, it was so much better and lovely and toasty warm we were back in the room by 9 and watched a film with some wine in our beds. The next morning we got up and had breakfast and then a bit more shopping before coming home, it was lovely to spend some time with dd and we are going to do the same next year.
I think I am almost there with my Christmas shopping I need to pull everything out and see what I’ve got, i need to get my in laws hamper bits but that will probably be one trip to M&S.
Roast pork for dinner today and mum is coming round, I have got a pecan and maple roulade for pudding as mum loves her deserts.
Im going to make some bread and butter pickles today as well, we love them and have run out so that’s a job for today.
Hope everyone is well I’m off to read back.
Have good days all and take care xx

Ruby - it's so lovely to read about your trip to Brighton with your DD, it sounds so good.Camelot - I hope that your snotty nose gets better soon.Scarlet - this time last year I had recently returned from north of Brisbane. I once had Christmas in Melbourne and NY in Perth and found them too hot to eat Christmas food.My painter didn't turn up, he texted to say his car broke down, not sure if I believe that but it's as good an excuse as any. Living in a beautiul rural / coastal area has it's downsides sometimes.I'm so happy that all my efforts with the exercises are beginning to work, I can walk so much easier, don't wobble so much and so my back and shoulder aren't so painful. There's more progress to be achieve, now I feel so much more motivated.7
