Litigation finance and Microfinance opportunities. Axiafunder etc.

Options
I am looking for litigation finance service which I can diversify with small amounts. (Like axiafunder.com) Is axiafunder reliable? Are there alternatives? I am reluctant about axiafunder because minimum to invest in each litigation is 1.000 GBP which is relatively high for me. What do you advise?

Secondly, I am looking for microfinance site that I can earn interest. I do not want Kiva because it is a charity. I want a microfinance site which I can earn interest. I can use small amounts for Kiva as a charity. But I want microfinance sites with interest which I can invest more.

Thank you!..

For the first one you could look at Burford Capital, or similar. For the second, International Personal Finance PLC is issuing debt paying 12% over 4 years. Although if £1k is relatively high for you then I'm not sure I'd be looking to invest in either of these niche, higher-risk areas.

Thank you sir. If there is a reliable service I can afford 1K GBP. Thanks for your help.

No sir. It's not your fault. My primary language is not English. I can talk in Layman's terms. And I made a mistake I meant Litigation funding. k12479 understood it :) Both of them are used - may be I used the word less commonly used. ----Edit. it is litigation finance. It was correct.

    Take care for now :)

    Hi k12479,

I was going to ask you this with PM but I guess it is better to ask it in this thread. For the benefit of everyone. May be other people will read this too and find it useful.

You told about International Personal Finance bond bearing 12%. How can I purchase it?

I used their contact form - no response. I emailed them - no response.

I am planning to invest 12.500GBP to this bond (amount will be clear in the upcoming time) but I do not know how to do it.

I am a Turkish resident residing in Turkey (no ties with UK). I am using Saxobank in the backend.

How can I purchase it? I can open another broker account too.

    Thank you K12479.
  • A quick Google shows that Burford is a non-starter. From their disclaimer page: https://www.ipfin.co.uk/new-gbp-bond-issue/disclaimer

"The Materials may only be distributed to persons who are residents of the United Kingdom."

In other words, you have to be a UK resident to purchase this bond.

Its no ones fault and its not based on your language, its just a relatively obscure thing to invest in and certainly as a private investor.

Options are likely to be limited, you don't mention if you want to simply invest in a litigation financing company as part of a pool/fund or shareholder or alternatively the ability to choose individual litigations? Certainly the website you listed has no active cases and many of the types of litigation listed could be covered by ATE Insurance rather than funding in the UK

I do not need to choose individual litigation but it is better. (In Axiafunder you can choose). You have to split to multiple individual litigations or if it is a pool, fund should split it. It is just because if a single litigation is lost you lose all of your funds. In summary they have 90% winning rate - if you come across 10% lost litigation you lose all funds invested in that. So splitting is the best idea. They choose the best litigations because if lawyer loses the litigation he does not get money. It is a good alternative in my perspective.

And when I was joining they made me a quiz. I did not pass it. I have to wait for 14 days. They are very diligent.

I am a sincere bigmouth - I share everything I know with people. Normally if people investing in litigation increases, profits decrease. I do not give a damn about that.
