wife owes rbs overdraft, as she has cancelled DMP with stepchange and now doing it herself, she has an RBS overdraft debt, and CCA letters doesnt apply to overdrafts, so she needed to set up a manual method of payment,( with moorcroft, who collects rbs debt ) to keep payments on time and up to date

well, she created account on moorcroft and logged in, she looked at how to pay, it was full off 7 detailed sections on income and expenditure questions again. the only one that didnt was a one off singular debit card payment.

But she simply set up the SO with her bank, cos on the back of the moorcroft account letter( not the website) it shows the sortcode and account number( which is actually RBS account number)! but they are collecting it for rbs.

so she wanted to say what she done, she went to contact us, it has lots of sections, and the only one she could use was "other", she got to  live chat with an employee, the employee wrote you must set up SO via them directly and answer income and expenditure figures.
my wife repeated her offer and the payment date and said post a letter confirming this, plus any discounted offers as well will be welcome.

the employee wrote thanks, will update your account.
It just shows you the hoops you have to jump through and how sneaky they are in getting this financial income  and expenditure figures from you, almost every  method of payment on their site or query had this what is you income/outgoings before you could proceed.

She didnt realise setting up a SO via your own self  managed  DMP was such hard work, and how clever you have to be to get around their questions and website setups!

She ended up arguing with me saying, id rather stay with stepchange, I said no, be clever, do it by  yourself. she said ok, as long as there is no problems/trouble lying ahead for us doing so with our creditors.

They often try and make you jump through hoops in the hope of initiating contact with you.Personally if there was no simple contact form or email address I'd have just put it in a letter and forgotten about it.

When I was dealing with Moorcroft ( debt now paid) I just filled in the income and expenditure forms. Obviously the income and debt payment parts didn't leave any room to "use my discretion" but it is pretty easy to "over estimate" the other figures to engineer the result wanted.

i prefer to do it in the privacy of my calculations.
I was looking as an interesting fact that Ireland allow max of £280  about €320 a month to be put away for a couple to take a holiday in Ireland as part of their social allowance in the income and expenditure figures.it was made by the Irish gov in2021.  that was part of their bankruptcy and DRO allowance.generous the Irish gov are imo.
this £280 also included an allowance for eg trips to cinema.
    you can Google it.
