First mortgage payment when switching provider?

We are switching mortgage providers on the 1st December. Our normal monthly mortgage payment comes out on the 1st December, does anyone know if this will still come out from the old lender or do we need to request a payment date change to e.g. 5th December so the mortgage has been switched over by then ?

The payment will be taken and then refunded to you.Not sure if changing the date to the 5th will be enough time as direct debits are requested days in advance.0
