Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark and damp but the gale force winds seems to have died down. We've been lucky and it hasn't been as bad as some other parts of the country.
Dinner last night was gammon, egg and chips.
Shopping and jobs to do today.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Calm and dry out this morning, we are forecast a good day so the washing can go out and I'll hope for the best! I've nearly caught up with the laundry from the weekend. I was up early so the ironing has been done.
Well done on your tea making Coxy. Hope your Dad quickly gets the treatment he needs.
Pleased to hear your appointment went smoothly Scarlet.
Hope you're all safe from the wind and rain.
Hoping Nanny will come back to us soon.
Friday again, I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend doing nothing in particular. Take care. XX10 -

Morning folks and thanks nmlc. We weren't affected by the storm up here but my thoughts have been with those of you down south. Hope all are safe, The sun is doing its best to get up over the moors so it's fingers crossed it makes it!
It's the usual Friday Tidy here. I'm sure it's Friday every other day. The bathroom and kitchen got done yesterday and I even cleaned the oven. Though it doesn't get used much these days so it wasn't much of an effort. Washed the towels and bath mats which went over the airer. Should be dry enough to put away this morning.
The rumours about the accident which blocked our road down to town on Tuesday were mostly wrong. There were no fatalities but an elderly pedestrian is in a serious condition in hospital. She is 83 so it's a big worry for her family.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. COXY I hope stepmum adheres to the medical advice, they know best. It's a worry for you being so far away from your DDad. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
There was an unexpected glorious sunset last night, the sky was blazing red. I stood outside for a wee while to watch it until I got too cold. Small pleasures as we head into winter darkness. My pool session was good and then I had a lovely long shower there. At home my electric shower isn't too powerful so it's always a joy to have one elsewhere. Today will be quiet, I have a load of papers to scan, boring but it needs done.10

Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
I haven't seen 'bodies' @Abbafan1972 but we are going to start it next week when DH is back from a weekend away - have heard good things about it.
I went to the cinema last night but left after 20 minutes. It was a British film but clearly not meant for my generation as there was a lot of street speak and terms that I had no clue about. Also the dialogue was fast and furious - so I cut my losses, came home and watched QT! Today I'm WFH. I've some HM BNS soup for lunch and its carbonara for tea tonight.
Another Bay of E charity sale - that's 6 this week - but I'm out of brown parcel paper, so need to source that today. Slowly clearing some space in the spare room, however I collected a free brand new set of trolley bags from someone yesterday courtesy of Olio so I'm going to advertise those today, plus there's some clothing to list.
@nannywindow if you're reading along, please check in and let us know you're okay.
Hugs to all the poorlies,
Coxy

Morning everyone dry here this morning my rain dance has failed I think it’s because my legs are aching so if you hear a horrible screeching it’s me singing at the top of my voice trying to drown out the sound of fireworks. I’m off to help at the bread and butter thing this morning then I will be back for a bowl of soup and then work last one of the week 119 days to go . Hope everyone is safe who has been affected by the storm. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all.
After raining just about all day yesterday today looks like being fine and dry, which is just as well as we're out walking with friends again and will have a pub lunch afterwards.
Yesterday we arranged to meet DD and the baby at a vintage cafe about 25 mins away but when we got there all the tables were booked. We ended up going to our lovely, but expensive, garden centre but we all had an enjoyable breakfast and a browse through the Christmas display. Picked up some Christmas napkins and a book for DGS's stocking plus a couple of fun pieces of festive headwear!
Very well done on the pay result Coxy. Was that because of your negotiations?
Off to get ready now so enjoy your Friday everyone.11 -
Morning all
It looks to be a nice day here the sun is shining but more rain due tonight and all day tomorrow, I ended up not going to work yesterday I decided it was safer to stay indoors, I’m glad I did OH said it was awful out there it took him 45 mins to get home which is usually a 5 minute journey.
Today DD and I are off to do some Christmas shopping we will go to Portsmouth as there are a good few shops there, we are going to pop in and see her friend and the new baby on the way, I hope to get a lot of the Christmas and Birthdays done today we have 8 Birthdays between now and Xmas 😳 although I have stopped buying for my nephews now they are working.
DD and I have always had a night out for Xmas we usually have a day shopping with many wine stops and then book a night in a hotel and have dinner out and then breakfast the next day and then more shopping and then home, we have not done it for a few years due to covid and me being poorly but we have booked it for next Friday 😃 we have booked a place in Brighton and there is an excellent tapas place there where we will have dinner, I am very much looking forward to it, quality time with my dd ❤️Dinner tonight will be pork chops with some roasted new potatoes and veg, dd is off out to the cinema and a meal so just OH and I here.
Coxy I’m glad you got the revised contract xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, it's a sunny day here atm, & we got off very lightly with the storm, just rain at times.Yesterday I had a lovely day with DGD (12), she came here as her mum & nana were working, so DS2 brought her when he came to pick up DH for work. It's unusual these days that I have her to myself. She wanted to spend some of her birthday money in primar k so we headed off to town on the bus. She was very happy with her haul, and some shoes from a sports shop.We had some lunch in a cafe, which was lovely. RR your break with DD sounds nice. When we got home she wanted to bake following a Mary Berry recipe for a victoria sponge, and did it all herself. It was still a bit warm really for putting the buttercream & jam in but as DS2 & DGS arrived to pick her up and it was footie training ,she did it anyway, and the menfolk all fell on it. She didn't have any so I'll wrap some up for Ds to take home later. She also wanted to look at my sewing machine- since she started high school this time she has been doing sewing in home economics ( or whatever it's called these days !) The teacher praised her apparently and sent her a 'merit' postcard to her house, which was nice, must be a few of my genes in her thenDS1 is out for a curry later so I've taken a beef stew out of the freezer for ourselves.I rang the vets yesterday asking if it was possible to have some meds for a couple of nights for pooch, as she had some a couple of months ago when something outside seemed to spook her and she was very distressed. The lady I spoke to said she'd put it on the prescription list and see what the vet said, so fingers crossed. She did say she'd ring back if it couldn't be done and she hasn't. With our previous dog where we lived before, he used to go and watch at the gate, so different even though they were the same breed. Izzy carry on singing as loud as you like!Coxy, glad about your raised salary.TA, glad there were no fatalities, hope the old lady recovers though.Off to do some more sorting ready for the wardrobe installation. Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7
