Domestic flight with Ryanair

My son is flying with Ryanair Belfast to Edinburgh. He does not have a passport. Will another form of photographic ID be accepted.

According to the Ryanair website they accept any photo ID that matches the booking details. Here's the link, you need to scroll down quite a bit.

Thats not correct with Ryanair. They only accept a passport or a NATIONAL ID CARD, which we dont have in the UK so it has to be a passport.

My husband had always travelled with his driving licence back and forth Belfast to London and during the snow of 2010, got stranded, could only get a Ryanair flight to Scotland to stay overnight to get the ferry, they sold him a ticket and then denied him boarding as no passport and then refused a refund as said his fault

All other carriers accept a driving license

My brother checked with Ryanair staff whilst at Belfast international and they confirmed that for domestic flights any photo ID which matched booking was acceptable.

Domestic flights with RyanAir, they will accept photo ID - i use my driving licence.
