CCJ help please

I recently found out on a credit check that I have a CCJ from during the covid pandemic that I knew nothing about. I have spoken to step change and the citizens advice and have paid to find the case number etc. I now need to find the creditor as I have no idea who it would be. I have been told to call or email. I have emailed them multiple times and called every day. The number for them is never answered. I know how much it is for so I have saved up since I found out and now have the amount ready so that if it is for me and isn’t an error I can pay it but can’t speak to anyone!

can anyone help me? How do I find out the creditor? It’s Northampton county court business centre and I’ve tried every number for them

Who have you paid and who told you to do that? Shocking advice

You email ccbc on CCBC@Justice.gov.uk, quote your name, address, case ref and date of judgement - all these things are on a free report from any of the three credit agencies - ask for the particulars of claim and wait a week for a response.

Then post here for further advice when you get the info
  • Thank you. I have already done that. Three times since august and nothing. I’m spending hours every day on hold to the court as they never answer. Emailed that address multiple times and never get a reply.

That wouldn't show the creditor name.

I've never failed to get a reply to my emails so not sure what is going wrong.

If that did happen to me I think I would contact my local court to see if they could help. They use the same database.

Possibly silly suggestion but have you checked your spam/junk folder??

Is the debt being chased ? no hurry if it isn`t, paying a CCJ will not remove it, only time will do that.

It's doubly odd. Odd that the court is not replying and odd that whoever got the ccj isn't writing to you.
