Default Notice - Help!!!

I'm panicking as I'm finding very conflicting definitions of this online!
Basically I took out a new car insurance policy with 1st central which I paid in full. For whatever reason when using the comparison site, it hadn't registered a claim I'd had and the annual milage was incorrect. 1st central then sent me an email on 21st Oct about wanting more money. At this point I was disputing the extra payment because I hadn't realised the claim hadn't come through onto the policy. I sent them an email and was told I'd have a response in 5 working days. On 27th Oct I received a default notice telling me to pay by 10th Nov.
I rang them today and there's absolutely no talking to them so I've paid the amount. But now I'm really worried there might be something left on my credit file about this? We are due to go for another mortgage next year and I will be devastated if this has left a mark on my squeaky clean credit file 😭
Can someone please clarify if a default notice will be on my credit file?!

A default will only be registered if you didn't pay by the date on the letter.

If you paid in full then there would be no credit arrangement and nothing should appear on your credit file.
Not all car insurers seem to report anyway.
As I see it, what they sent you should have been an invoice for an extra charge, and you paid it.
If anything at all appears on your file you should query/complain.1 -
Thank you both! Yes I've paid before the date!Debt Free as of December 2020 👏
