Help with moorcroft debt agency

I ahve had a debt with moorcroft for about 10months for a orange phonebill..i couldnt afford to pay every month from about 6months ago so i paid whenever i could which they were fine about. I paid a payment of £50 about 6 weeks ago..and no more since, i got a letter from them saying they would sendsome one round to collect payment. I rang them and explained i could pay £60 today (friday), £50 on monday (tomorrow) and £50 on friday (all the days i get paid). And then i todl them i would pay the fremainign balance on the 7th January when i get paid again. So that would be in a week (counting last friday to this friday coming) they would have £160 off a £250 debt with them. They wont accept it said debt collectors would come round on xmas day to collect payment..i disagreed with them and they are giving me an extra 3days and if no payment of £250 (full amount as ive had loads of chances they say) then debt collectors will come on friday 28th dec. I todl them there is no way i can afford it and they basically said tough. What can i do??? I can grantee to pay it all by 7th jan and they wont let me.
Also stupid CC bill is £124.00 due 17th jan grrrrrrr guna be a skint month

So all they are threatening is a door step collector
and as you said would they work over Christmas. From what you say it is your intention to pay them back so do it as you have outlined. Don't answer the phone to them or if you don't have number display refuse to answer their confirmation questions and if they come to the door don't open it. It says someone is coming to arrange a payment in next few days on the letter but guy on phone said a balliff. They dont have my house number i dont think just my address. Avoid phoning them. Do not phone them ever. Keep everything in writing. Send recorded delivery and put the RD slip with a copy of the letter you have sent and keep it. That way you have proof of everything.
Send a letter with the proposal you have outlined here. On the day you have said pay them.
