2 cj come off file Jan, July 2024 both being paid both finish march 2024 as such some light at the end of the tunnel.
Next defaults
one is for Lantern debt company, however, the same debt was defaulted by the original company, and Lantern is collecting and currently negotiating a payment plan how can I have two defaults for the same debt and how do I get one removed if I can?
Two defaults held by Lowel I HAVE REQUESTED ALL INFORMATION STILL WAITING.
Vanquis bank default account opened five years ago defaulted 4 years ago account default was marked as satisfied, i assume a debt buyer bought the debt? if so who do I negotiate with who purchased it and can it be defaulted again?
lowel two further defaults for the same account phone contract can I default on the phone and the contract? hence two small defaults amounting to £124
Finally, once in communication with all defaults, i will offer affordable repayments and pay but will they still take me to court ? and put a new cj on my account just for the hell of it or will the payments stop further action.

If any company wants to get a CCJ they must go through the correct process.
They must send you a letter before action ( by snail mail ) which you must reply to.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -
Not two defaults, just one but reported by both old and new owner.
Usual scenario is a default from the original creditor, and an entry from new owner, are just one showing a status update of the other, original entry should show date of default and a zero balance, new owner entry should show same date of default, and the outstanding balance.
A debt can only default once.
The phone and the phone contract can either be as above, or a default for each account if they are separate, like when you have a credit agreement for the phone, and a service contract for airtime.
If a debt purchasing company bought your debts, they will write to you, if they don`t then they may not intend to chase it, anything can happen.
Legal action is not taken by original creditors, its usually reserved for debt purchasing companies, and only if you continually ignore contact from them, if you are making regular payments to debts then nothing further will happen.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You may find Lowell hold a number of old accounts in your name. You should be able to get a list either by request or off their website.
If they were defaulted more than 6 years ago they would not appear on your credit file.
If you have not made a payment for more than 6 years it would be statute barred and you need not pay.
It is most unlikely that anyone would start a court claim on anything you mentioned in your post. There would be no point1 -
SO for the same debt it's classified as one default? just being reported by the old and then new owner of the debt , ive noticed the old debt it says reprt default until feb 2026 and the buyer says march 2026 , i see that as little issue as going on my calculations the debt to the buyer will be settled by april 2024 so do i have to request that to be marked as settled ?sourcrates said:Not two defaults, just one but reported by both old and new owner.

Yes that`s correct, doesn't always appear that way, sometimes the original entry will vanish, sometimes it won`t, but it`s just the one default, not two.Happydude5265 said:SO for the same debt it's classified as one default? just being reported by the old and then new owner of the debt , ive noticed the old debt it says reprt default until feb 2026 and the buyer says march 2026 , i see that as little issue as going on my calculations the debt to the buyer will be settled by april 2024 so do i have to request that to be marked as settled ?
No point in requesting anything, just for being a month out, as by the time its actioned the whole entry will have automatically dropped off your file anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
