Hi,
I am trying out how to back up my dvd.
I have a NEC 2510A dvd burner which can do dual layer options.
I used dvd shrink to back up entire disc - it analyses and then decodes the files but it won't back uo to the discs??
I am trying to use Philips DVD+R double layer discs which are new from pc world today.
I tried doing it with nero and again no joy. It just doesn't even start to write the files.
I guess I may need particular software to do this - if so are there any free options out there.
any help greatly appreciated
thansk

Nero definitely does D/L disks with my NEC3520A :T
Make sure you have the latest firmware for your NEC drive ( I made two coasters to start off with - not good when D/L are so expensive ).
BUT be careful and read up about firmware updates and the problems if things go wrong !!“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
you can try this http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htmthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

He was just pointing it out as discussions about that type of thing are not allowed on the board... In fact uktyler should not have mentioned it in his post... If you tell us how the DVD was created in the first place it might be easier to help with a solution..
What program did you use to burn the original disk.... If there is no copy protection have you tried just to copy the whole VIDEO_TS folder to your HDD then just drag it to nero???0 -

As sco0ter said I was only pointing out that uktyler shouldn't be discussing removing copy protection. It's as much for your benefit, as what use is it to you if his post causes your thread to get deleted?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Just use the Copy DVD tab in Nero. Do you have Nero?
If not, you can obtain a free trial of Nero 8 from their website: http://www.nero.com/ena/index.html
Don't install the ASK Toolbar and un-tick ALL of the options for it to take your computer over...unless that is what you want it to do.0 -
I too use DVDFab for this type of work i have not failed to make one yet although i use the platinum version of this software.
So therefore i would recommend this programme:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.
