Just a heads up....

I was asked to show my railcard on a service this week. I have a screenshot of it and have successfully shown this (and had it QR scanned) on numerous occasions.

This time the inspector wanted to see the original with the hologram flickering, I was on a countryside service with weak 4g and I was struggling to download it. The inspector started to issue a fine/letter (even the inspectors device couldn't get a signal!)

Meanwhile a couple of stops later my signal returned and I managed to show the original railcard and the inspector voided the fine/letter.

Just be aware and have your original downloaded ready 👍

trouble is they are stuck in the dark ages and if you get a paper one you can't link it to a digital one, and vice versa.

Upon reflection, I may have been subjected to this check by revenue inspectors (2 plus a guard on the train)

I don't often travel by train, usually for family trips out but I'll be making sure I use the car more in future. I'll just add to congestion and add to green house gases. 

(I've tried to be helpful and be a little greener but the train staff attitude has put me right off 😁)
