Will this recipe freeze?

I've just made this Delia Black Forest Gateau Swiss Roll and it is huge!

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on whether it is freezable, looking at the ingredients?? And if it is, will it all turn to mush when defrosted??

this is the recipe

There are only 2 of us and there are at least 8 portions!!

The link isn't working, but I think it is Delia's site. So am afraid cannot offer an opinion.

Either 1/4 down the recipe (or half if you can eat extras, I know I would with a black forest type cake) or risk it IMO, if it goes mushy, mushy things don't always taste bad and mushy cake is fab mixed into icecream :D

I couldn't see the recipe either.
One day I might be more organised...........

How strange, the link worked for me:confused:

Looking at the ingredients it's quite similar to a chocolate roulade a friend used to make for me. That froze quite successfully:D Once thawed it did need eating quite quickly, but wasn't all mushy to start with.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • excellent, I was concerned with the mousse mixture containing the egg yolk.

We had a big slab each last night, but I don't think we could handle that again for the next few nights!!!!!

I think I might half what is left and freeze 2 large portions so it doesn't have to be defrosted all in one go.

nice recipe if anyone ever wants to try it ;)

Delia says "Do not freeze the marinated cherries or the topping".
  • hhm.....wonder why the topping? It's just jam and chocolate?
