I think East India is a bit over hyped, nothing special just marketing.DigSunPap said:
This is a good shout also - have tried East India before and they are greatDullGreyGuy said:East India Company (https://lifestyle.theeastindiacompany.com/collections/teas) do some fairly special teas... with associated prices at times. Not a big tea drinker myself but went to an event at one of their stores trying some of their mid priced items (for them) and was really surprised about the scale of differences between things (talking 1st and 2nd blush not comparing green and black tea)

Why would you not touch it based on the name of the company? Seems a bit silly over a cup of brewRosa_Damascena said:
I wouldn't touch it, based purely on the trading name of the company.DigSunPap said:

Sainsbury's red label is nothing special but a good option for an everyday cuppa.0 -
Its not my favourite by any means, but still a good option - each to their own!Emmia said:

They've prime central London stores and so inevitably their products are going to be more expensive with the higher running costs than a web only store based in the back of beyond but they do have a good selection and if you're wanting a special rather than your daily brew it can be worth looking at.Emmia said:

The OP says they currently enjoy a Fortnums number which is likely to be even more marketing than EIC0 -
I find the historical connotations with a death toll in excess of 40 million highly distasteful. I'd pick it only if pinned against a wall and forced to, against a choice of tea from the Royal African Company.DigSunPap said:

So much to read, so little time.2 -
Fair enough - I have just never thought of having a cup of tea as a political issue!Rosa_Damascena said:

For a special brew (or a daily brew), I'd use the Tea House of Covent Garden (which is now online only).DullGreyGuy said:

We buy the Tesco "Red Label" or "Gold Label" loose tea. It makes a nice cuppa. Teabags are usually the deluxe from Lidl. I did try the ordinary Lidl ones last week - horrible.0

Suki tea, brilliant company based in NI, does lovely herbal teas, usually have offers. Highly recommend their black tea blend Belfast brew and also Apple loves Mint. They also do loose tea and some blends in tea bags.0

Every action we take these days is a political issue!!! Depends on how each individual considers the action to know just how political we make it. (like I still won't eat Domino's pizza 40 years after first hearing about some of the things they were up to.....)DigSunPap said:
