Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your early finish.
Chilly again this morning, we were forecast rain for the last couple of days but haven't had any yet which is a bonus. Washing on the pulley, will finish it off in the TD later.
How's your DS Topsy?
How lovely your DGS is walking now Bella.
Poor Rob Ruby, his Mum needs a good talking to.
Impressive list taff!
Hope the little one is better soon dp1 and she can enjoy her day out.
Oh dear Coxy, adulting is hard!
Not long to go Izzy, hang in there.
Off to have my eyebrows done and my face ironed after work, will be nice to relax, I'm quite looking forward to it. My whole outfit was tried on last night and jewellery sorted, my friend and her DD came over to guide me!
Have a good day and take care. XX9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
Looks ok outside, well, it's still dark but not raining.
That medical appt letter I lost - I remembered that I also had notification via text on my phone, so emailed that to my laptop then printed it! The lost
letter will now turn up. I'm having a procedure and instructions were given for beforehand. It's a camera examination of my bladder, (sorry if tmi) so not looking forward to that. Though I've had camera exams of other gruesome areas so I'll survive.
I know I could have just showed them my phone when I go, but sometimes it's easier to whip out a piece of paper than mess about with your phone
Camelot, you did not get very good service, that girl sounds dreadful. Pity she couldn't take Izzy's job over when she retires, it would give Izzy's awful employer something to complain about.
Ruby, glad you're feeling a bit better. That poor lad Rob, his mother seems to be very uncaring, how sad it is for him.
Coxy, your Dd will learn the hard way about doing her washing!
Hope you had a nice lunch TA.
I'm thinking of going to either Newcastle or Metro centre this morning, I've got a list of things to get. I'll probably decide at the bus stop.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of Dp1's dg d and anyone else who is not well.
Take care folks.9 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I swear I could see every star when I first got up as the sky was so clear. Sadly it's now getting overcome by cloud and gloominess.
Glad you have now found a way of getting your appointment on paper SCARLET. The original will turn up today it's sod's law! I had that same procedure a few years back and I survived to tell the tale! They said if I wanted I could watch the findings on screen as the camera roamed about. I didn't thank you very much!!
CAMELOT you are so organised, all ready for the big day. I could do with my face ironing, the thought of it made me smile!!
I had a lovely lunch with DF yesterday. I had an enormous brunch, I was stuffed for the rest of the day. Just a light snack in the evening. A couple of glasses of wine might have accompanied our lunches! She has such an up and down life with her DH's mental health issues it does her good to get away from him for a few hours.
Another day of being a lady that lunches again today. It's bus trip day, the highlight will be our lunch and bottle of wine and much talking as usual. Nowhere in particular is planned so we will probably once again end up in Skipton. I'm not fussed where we go I just enjoy the day out.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and MIA. Are you there NAN, it worries me when regulars go AWOL? TAFF your posts wear me out, I hope you make time for copious numbers of coffee breaks amongst all the jobs. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
Dumroll please....DD finally did her washing - also pegged it out, although she missed the best of the weather, so it's now festooned on the airer in the spare room. She could give @Gers a run for her money in terms of pairs of pants! She has gone off on the train to start a temp role this morning. It's only until Christmas but at least it's something. She had an interview over Zoom yesterday but her laptop wouldn't play ball so ended up doing it from her phone. This is for a perm job - not sure she will get it after that fiasco!
DDad is slowly improving and Stepmum thinks he may be home with accompanying oxygen cylinders by the weekend. We shall see.
WFH today - I usually go in on a Wednesday but boss has travelled to Hull to visit an ailing relative, so no point me sitting in the office without her. Dinner tonight is SW chilli beef stir fry. I had another Bay of E charity sale, so that will be dropped into the Post Office at lunchtime too.
Do you think Rob's mum gets him to make his own packed lunch @RedRuby1231? Sounds like it! Poor guy doesn't deserve that x
Face ironing also made me laugh @camelot1001 !
Happy bus trip and lunch day @TravellingAbuela - I can't wait for that to be me!
I too am missing @nannywindow - hope you're okay Nan?
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all
Pourimg with rain here and set in for the day I am off to collect Rob and take him to work, they have Halloween events on this week so should be fun. Re his mum she has always been really controlling about what he eats - at one point all he could have was lamb mince and rice she once sent him to work with some which had gone mouldy 🤢 she has relaxed a bit on his food now, but she is not in good health she is only 74 but looks an out 90 and is very unsteady on her feet, I think she just can’t be bothered anymore, at least he will now get a good lunch two days a week !
Im going to go shopping on the way home so will pick up something for dinner then maybe something quick with chips. I have put a wash on this morning but it will have to go on the airer.
TA enjoy your day out xx
Topsy hope your DS is doing ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning everyone enjoy your early finish NMLC I’m working under a big black cloud it’s all doom and gloom with her this week She tried yesterday to make me understand how they are getting older and how they are now going to have to find someone else and how will they do that but I made it plain that conversation is over I’m leaving so find someone else I’m not changing my mind so while she is sighing and moping about I am smiling and tap dancing inside I don’t care . Camelot I wish someone would iron my face sounds wonderful Scarlet I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry too much about it I’m sure you will be alright TA I’m another one that get’s worn out reading Taffs posts she seems to fit so much in to her day always got a number of things on the go at once Taff slow down right I must dash thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning everyone
Very dull and drizzly here this morning - it looks like it's set for the day. I have to pop out for some shopping this morning - just a few bits as I'm away next week then I'll call at mam and dads for a cuppa on my way home. My brother is here for a couple of days so we all had a chippy tea last night - it was lovely. Little one was in fine form and kept us all entertained. She's going back to school today and is very excited for the Halloween party this afternoon.
This afternoon I'm stewarding at our local cinema for The Greatest Escape - I'm looking forwarding it. I enjoy going on a Wednesday afternoon - I always feel like it's a treat as I'm not at work.
Izzy - does she not realise you're getting older too and might be ready to do what you want for a change?
Hope everyone has a good day today. I didn't know there was such a thing as face ironing! I could do with my face and neck done - little one often says 'why's your face a bit wrinkly granny'9 -
It's a very chilly start to the day here. The fields have a light dusting of frost on them, I was certainly glad of the winter duvet last night.Today I'm going to make some mini Victoria sponges to take up to my elderly neighbour. It would have been done yesterday but I had no Stork or muffin cases so did a quick trip out to the shop. Once I got home I CBA!I had to dig out my old vocational qualifications which I though I had stored as pdfs on my portable hard drives but they weren't there. Cue a little bit of panic as I was sure that I'd scanned them along with my degree certificates. It took me going through three drawers and the bottom of the wardrobe before I found them - now going to scan them. I may be asked to do a little bit of casual teaching at the pool so need to be ready. Also found my Disclosure Scotland certificate (equiv. of DBS) which was on the hard drive.Izzy - you keep strong there!Camelot - I'm getting excited for you.Ruby - have fun doing Halloween things. There are hardly any children round here and it's too dark at night for any roaming around.Coxy - my fingers are crossed for your DD.TA - it's so lovely to hear that you and your friend are meeting up again. Reading about you seeing the stars cheered me up, it's always such a joy to see them.Scarlet - enjoy your shopping wherever you end up.9

Morning all, it seems a nice day today so far, cold though - DH will be wanting to get the log burner going later, he's only a few bits to finish on the current job & hopefully having a few days off. No DGS pick up either, he has a Halloween do at school later so his Mum and DS have swapped nights.Just after I did a thorough clean up in the bathroom yesterday I got a message from DB saying SIL has come down with lurgy so they don't know if she'll be better by Sat. when they were coming here for a meal so it might be put on hold.A group of old school friends have been messaging trying to get a lunch out in Nov. arranged. I can't get in touch with one at all, the texts don't send so up to now there are 4 of us. 2 others live further afield in Yorkshire and haven't committed yet & trying to get a date when everyone is free has been hard work, mainly childcare/school pick up, or in 1 case a very elderly Mum caring roles
We used to meet 2 or 3 times a year but since the pandemic we let things slide so it's 3 years since.
Got an O delivery in a bit so I shall decide on tea once I've unpacked it. Last night I cut the pork tenderloin into medallions, and put the garlic and honey sauce when it was nearly done- didn't take long at all and was very tender. Another delivery also of some bargain Joules wellies, will get plenty of use in this weather for dogwalking and muddy football pitches I'm sure. Some of the flooded homes on the news took me back, poor things. It says some may never get back into their homes.Take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. Dry but dull here.
Took DGS on a bus ride to the City Centre yesterday and had a scone and jam in JL. Didn't realise you have to pay for the jam separately these days so brought the spare pot home with us
Izzy: I was incensed at what your boss said and I hope you stick to your guns and retire as planned. She sounds dreadful to work for and extremely self centred.
Today we are off to go pumpkin picking with DD and family. Not that I want any pumpkins but they usually decorate their house for Halloween plus it's a fun couple of hours with tractor rides etc. Our son in law enjoys putting out a cauldron with fake smoke and handing out sweets to the local children; think he's getting quite a reputation as the house to knock at.
Unfortunately my temporary filling came away again yesterday so I ought to phone the dentist to get it replaced. She only works two days a week so doubt she'll be able to fit me in just yet.
Look after yourselves.9
