I am going to get professional career advice because

- I am tired of the lack of good information for jobseekers
- Encouraged to be picky when I can't be picky
- Being constantly told to take up volunteering
- Suggestions to start your own business (no further information; just start your own business)
- The lack of community in the UK
- The resistance from others when you try to network to others with a larger network than you
- Treated as almost mentally disabled if I don't come from a large (preferably rich) family
..
So I'll try a professional instead.
Sorry about that, but it has to be said

You obviously have strong feelings about this important matter, Red, and who can blame you if you have been treated as you describe.
Obviously much will depend on what qualifications you have , either academic or technical or otherwise and on your preferences, but have you thought of the National Careers Service which covers anyone from school age to any age in life ----- https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/
Best wishes and good luck.0 -
If you're referring to this board then you have to be a bit picky about the advice you take forward, it is just a bunch of people chipping in.
And that's totally fine, you just need to be able to sift. As I've raised in some of my own posts in the past sometimes it's good just to have opinions to look through, they might not all be the right answer, or even an answer at all.0 -
I'm sorry but I don't understand what your post means at all, Dakta. How thick I must be ? Can you please amplify ?Dakta said:If you're referring to this board then you have to be a bit picky about the advice you take forward, it is just a bunch of people chipping in.

Given that you've only made one other post on this website I presume you're talking about information you've attempted to source elsewhere, since the answers on that don't fit what you've said above: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6476863/going-back-to-uni-at-40/p1Red0desert said:- I am tired of the lack of good information for jobseekers

'Read and pick out anything which might be of use to you, while recognising that people are answering you based on virtually no knowledge of your circumstances so have little chance of coming up with answers which are going to be spot on.'Richard1212 said:

Unfortunately these are all problems that everybody has to deal with when searching for a job. It can be demoralising when looking for something that you cant find - but stick with it and be persistent and something will come your way soon.0

Thx Dakta. I wasn't worried and I didn't think your post was aimed at me at all. I simply just didn't understand your meaning---all cleared up now and thx for posting me back again. All the best.Dakta said:Thats what i meant, it wasn't a direct response to yourself richard dont worry.0
